I went with a Flaming River Billet HD Alternator, I only replaced it to get more amps. Too bad your so far away I still have my stock one with 18K miles on it. Probably not worth shipping.
Thanks, but my stock alternator gave up at 38000 miles, so I am going to try something else.

Billit Tech Alternator is an option. I have the 170A polished one. 14.6 V at idle.

Hence at most, would bank that a replacement set of brushes at less than $10 if your are worn out, would have the old unit back up and running.
As for if you are going to replace it, then go with the Billit Tech Alternator unit. The difference of what it, and the OEM valeo unit will put out at idle are staggering. At idle, the OEM valeo puts out about 14 amp on good day, while the billet puts out more than 50 amps isntead. Hence it not the full output that the units will put out when fully spun up that counts, but what the unit will put out when the car is sitting at the stop light idling that really matters instead.
The OEM Valeo unit is a 3 pole unit, while the billet is a 6 pole unit, and why the billet unit puts out more amperage at idle isntead.
