Default Anyone Driven in a boot?

Got surgery on my right ankle a couple of weeks ago from some sports related injuries and currently looking at getting a new car (ya timing was not the greatest) I'm currently in a compression boot and pretty functional but wondering if the pedal spacing on a manual C6 is enough for a boot. So has anyone driven their C6 manual in a compression boot

I personally don’t think you’re going to have enough room. Being your right leg, is a bit better than your left with a stick but I guess there’s only one way to tell!

I let my son drive my C6 with his motorcycle boots on. He did OK but it was difficult. Obviously the clutch was the most challenging. See if someone will let you try.

Are u on Crack for pain management. Why would you even consider driving, let alone want to deal with a clutch. If u we're my buddy no way would you be test driving in my Vette.

Wait until you heal enough that your ortho guy says you can drive without the boot, but put it on at your destination. Happened to me with achilles problem.

I think it can be done but probably shouldn't be done. The brake and gas are pretty close together. I sometimes inadvertently touch the gas while sitting at a light with my foot on the brake. Does make heel & toe shifting really easy.

I agree. Had achilles issues 3 years ago on my left leg and just thought it better to chill. Trying to get that boot in the small space is dangerous and just plain not smart..
Just wait it out and during PT do whatever exercises you need to make your foot stronger as it will atrophy while in a cast...

Not in a C6-but a few years back after breaking my foot I drove my daily at the time ('14 Sonic RS) with a boot on my right foot. Not the best idea but I was able to shift gears though I used my left foot to brake. Again most likely not the best idea.

A few years back I had surgery on my right foot and taught myself how to drive left footed. I had to in order to drive home from the hospital. It took a while to get used to throttle management and smooth acceleration. But, in time it was not so bad. However, that was in a 2004 4Runner automatic. No way I would suggest or attempt that in a C6, especially not a manual. Too much potential for it getting away from you in an emergency situation. This past summer I drove my C6 GS home from the hospital with "no pressure" orders on my left foot. That is not a walking boot, it is a "do not let this touch anything" order. It was heavily bandaged with a soft shoe and that was difficult to fit in the narrow floorboard area. Not a chance to fit a walking boot and three pedals down there. A walking boot is constructed to prevent/limit flexing of your ankle. So, all movement will have to be made at the knee. Not something I could do in a C6.

Sounds to me you need a chauffeur. Any volunteers?

Yep, you might have to be from Tennessee to get it.

I agree. Just because you “may” be able to doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.

Only thing that I see happening is another commercial for Allstate insurance. Just like letting Mayhem test driving your corvette. I think it’s a stupid idea. Why put yourself in danger and not to mention the innocent people in the way if you had to react quickly.

OP; you might want to ask your insurance agent because you might not be covered if you get into an accident.
