Which would you buy?
Hey guys I've been looking around for a while for a C6 and I've narrowed it down to these two. It will be my summer dd for a few years anyways then I may sell it private so resale value is important. Any help deciding which would be better reliability and resale wise would be appreciated. The Z06 is $2000 more. I would want to do the 05 rear end before it blows up so they would almost be the same price.

Well the first thing I would check is who did the work and what is their pedigree in doing these types of mods. If both are cars were done by top shops and they check out mechanically I might differ from the others. While most say the Z06, I look at it this way, the '05 has less miles on it and is two grand cheaper. Of the miles on both cars, how many were put on with the engine mods. Next resale on them will be hard because of the mods. Most buyers are not wanting highly modified Corvette's. So all I can say, is it appears you want a highly modified power plant so it is really up to you.

Z06. I had an 08 C6 with every option even F55 and I always wanted the wide body. Get the Z06 it'll always be worth more
.. and easier to sell.

Humm... I never was a fan of red Corvettes, they are literally EVERWHERE & that ZO6 has 80k miles on it vs 35k on the base. Both cars are modified which won't bring an extra dime when you resell. You say that the Z is only 2k more, but what is the price of both cars?

The 05 is certainly less desirable due to being one year only pcm. But also more desirable due to a lot fewer miles. I wouldn't fix the rear unless it blew up; it's a pretty small quantity issue. I am going against what everyone else says - the 05 will be a better daily driver.

I would get the 05 as well. If you intend to sell in a few years, how many people want a 100k mile highly modded z06 and will spend decent money on it? Not many. If you were keeping it, I would say z06, but to sell in a few years, the 05.

Neither is a particularly good choice since both have been "played" with, what with all the mods. I'd want one that hasn't had so much done to it. A newer stock one owned by an older person, with good maintenance records, would be my first choice.

A well modified car can be had for a great price while someone else has absorbed the cost. Believe it or not a stock factory car is nothing short of boring to some.

Neither since I wouldn't want one that someone else modified. Not saying they didn't do a good job, just too many unknowns and assumptions.
For reliability and resale and it sounds like you want one with more power, Id look around for a stock z06.
