Default HUD shuts off when headlights come on

2005 C6 Manual - Z51. Whenever the headlights come on, the hud shuts off. It does work with DLR on, however, it doesn't matter if they are turned on manually or Auto on. Anybody had this problem?

The dashboard lighting dimmer **** must be set to the lowest setting. It's not the HUD brightness we're talking about here.

Yeah, I checked it. It's weird when you turn the headlights on, it just goes away, I've looked in the windshield and there is nothing showing, it's like it gets shut off!

Once and a while these cars can get little glitches, sometimes disconnecting the battery for a few minutes then hooking it back up can take care of them, did you try that yet ?

Update: It looks like it only happens when the headlights come on automatically. The HUD stays on when the lights are turned on manually. I will verify this when it gets a bit darker.

It's something new, but I can't put my finger on when it started.

Could it have been when you replaced the battery ?

I think it was happening before that.

The reason I ask is that sometimes when replacing a battery it can cause these glitches, and often disconnecting then reconnecting the battery can take care of them.

Ok, I'll try that a little later. I want to verify that it's happening with the Auto-on feature. Thanks for your help!

Well that was it! I confirmed that is was happening with the auto-on. I took the neg. battery terminal off for about 10 minutes then hooked back up. All is good.
Thanks for the help.

That's awesome. This a good place, even with the occasional narcissistic post!
