Default Front bumper

Brought my new to me car home tonight. I love her. I was crawling around under the car and noticed the front bumper is really scraped up on the bottom. Is this pretty normal? I feel like if I tried to fix it, it might be a waste of my time. I think I have some ocd and it slightly bothers me.

These cars sit very low and scrape on everything. Heck, my stock height GS scrapes on some dips in the road. Don't sweat it, just drive and enjoy your new car.

Thanks for the reply. It makes me feel better. In love the heck out the car. I just need to let some things go. I have waited so long to have a corvette. I just want to take care of it.

BTDT, so I feel your pain, but when you are sitting in the drivers seat on a winding road the little stuff just fades away.

There is also a lip that hangs below the front bumper that will rub the ground fairly easily on dips, even when going slow. The manual says that is normal....don't drive yourself nuts. If you can't see it without looking under, no worries. Enjoy your new ride!

Mine is the same way, like the original owner pulled in over parking stops all the time or something. Yes the black rubber air deflector scrapes the ground all the time but not the bottom of the front bumper. I am probably going to repair and paint mine myself once the weather gets warmer, in 2 years I have never scraped the bottom of the bumper. If it bothers you fix it or take it to someone who can.

Yes^^^^^ Mine was like that too. but when I had the license plate holder screw holes repaired, and the front bumper repainted, it was taken care of. The real danger is hitting something hard enough to break the lower rad support. The rule is, never drive in when you can back in safely.

I would also check the two metal pieces that are in front of the black plastic piece that does the initial scraping. There is one on each side about a foot from the wheel. This is a metal piece and the radiator is mounted above these. I have seen some of these that have been scraped very badly and some cracked. This could turn into a problem. However, if it is just a bit of the under bumper or the black plastic piece I wouldn't sweat it. If it is the painted portion, you can always touch it up and since it isn't easily seen it doesn't have to be perfect. If it will help the OCD in you. I know the feeling.

My front GS Splitter has a couple scrapes on it on the passenger side and I would like to do something with it, but would probalby make it worse, and I plan on installing a ZR1 splitter at some point anyway.

Anyway, more importantly Congratulations on the new ride!

PS. It didn't happen unless there are pictures! Lets see it

if anyone drives their 'vette at all, you will get some 'damage' in and around this area.
I've replaced the rad. support twice. the center section of the air dam, is as far as know, still original ( as is the passenger side
section ). the drivers side section, due to improper installation & exposure has been replaced several times.
as a matter of fact, I'm having it replaced again this weekend. I lost not only that part, but also the panel that it
attaches to, and the brake duct piping too! while it appeared to be attached sufficiently, the air dam section came loose
while on the freeway. it ran up under the tire. followed with it were the others pieces too. sounded like a small explosion!
get the new parts to be installed with new brakes too!

sounds similar to mine ( '09. 3LT, Z51, J55 brakes ), 6M, both tops.
I got you beat on the mileage though ( 147k ), but 25k is great start!
