What should I look out for?
Hi everyone,
I have an opportunity to pick up a 2005 vette. It is an auto with about 65k miles on it. It has some aftermarket wheels and a spoiler on the back. Not sure of any other mods as I have not physically looked at it. My question is: When I do go to look at it, what should I be on the lookout for? Any questions I should be asking the seller? Anything I should be looking over closely?
This would be my first sports car, I've always driven Honda SUV's lol. I would be using this car as a 2nd car and not a daily driver.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum... You have an opportunity ? What does that mean? there are thousands of Corvettes for sale. The reason I ask is because having an opportunity is too vague.. are you getting this car for a few thousand dollars? Why this car ? What is your budget?
We can certainly help you with your first Corvette purchase. Since you posted your question here in the C5 section, about a C6 Corvette, you probably do not know much about these cars.. So with that in mind. How much are you willing to spend on your first sports car. Are you only interested in an Automatic car? So as you see in order to get you some good advice, you need to give us some more specific concerns about this car and the possibility of other cars.. Your Budget would be our first concern.
Good luck, and dont jump on anything without getting some good advice on a specific car..

I know a few things because I have seen a few things

Sorry meant to post this in the C6 forum. Nott sure if the admins can move this or if I should scrap this thread and start a new one... But you are correct in that I don't know much about vette's, but I do know that I like them! Always have, ever since I was a child. As far as the spec's, I am open to whatever. I would prefer an auto with possibly paddle shifters. I would like to spend between 10 and 15k. Maybe 16k if it was really, really nice.
And sorry to be so vague, by opportunity I meant that I am financially stable and able to afford a second car. I do not know anyone with a vette for sale or anything like that. I would be purchasing off of craigslist, facebook marketplace, a forum, etc.

What are they asking for the one you're looking at?

Drifting
One of the things to look at is the Harmonic Balancer check for wobble or a chirping noise at a cold start, it's about a $900.-$1200.00 dollar repair, all years could be affected also check the age of the tires.
