Default Yes, another HUD thread.

So I just purchased a used 2006 C6. The HUD was shaking and sinking and after hours of thread reading I knew it would have to be fixed. I went ahead and replaced the projector with the vent cut method. The installation went fine and all of the parts went in the right places. The projector I purchased was a new unit not used or rebuilt.

Now here is the issue. The HUD works as far as displaying the image, dimming and mirrors rotation, but the image is cut off. What I mean is when I moving it all the way down it stops to far up. I have to slouch down in the seat to see the full image. Of I scroll up it goes the full tilt of the mirror out of sight.

I'm hoping it's not broken from the factory and there is some sort of calculation. I even took the dash apart again and verified the pins were mounted correctly and the rear stand on the hud was all the way down in the mount. Any help would be great. I would hate to have to take it out again and start messing with a new projector.

Thanks

Mike

My guess is that you don't have the all the HUD all the way down on its mounts, based on what you said. I looked inside my old HUD < purchased a new one to install > and there don't seem to be any adjustments that I can see so it has to be a mounting issue if the rest of it works. There is a little white cam wheel that turns and a plastic pawl attached to the mirror changes the angle as the pawl rides on the wheel.

I don't know if it will help you, but I took a pic of the mount that give me a bunch of trouble.

Wow! Thank you so much! I didn't know it was so sensitive to the mounts. I'm fairly sure it's on the mounts. I'll double check though. The picture makes this great. Thank you again.
