C-6 transmission problem
Hello: I have a C-6 coupe with 35000 miles on it. I have had a problem the last couple of times out, not sure what is causing it. It runs great, but when I place it in park, and then try to put in gear, it will not move. This happens when it is on or turned off. Just seems to be locked up in park. After a couple of minutes, it then goes into gear. The is no grinding or any noises. It is a automatic. It is just locked in the park gear, and then all of a sudden it will go into gear, and run fine. Does not do it all the time, just do not know when it will happen. I have no oil leaks under the car. Hope you have some kind of idea before I take it to the dealer? Thanks CSM R Thrasher USA Retired

Search " stuck in park" on this forum and you will find lots of info on this topic. The dealer will want to replace the shifter assembly for around $600. You can take care of the problem yourself for free, by tying back the shifter locking tab under the center console.
