Default Brake pads

Looking for recommendations on the best replacement brake pads for a 2011 Grand Sport. Basic street driving. No track driving. Looking for low dust, low noise and obviously, excellent braking power. Thanks

Second above. You said best, these are the best and albeit most expensive also but quality comes at a price. Look no further. Things like. Brakes and tires i do not get cheap on.

I recently went with HAWK HPS 5.0 on my '05 Z51. Considerably less dust than stock. A bit less initial bite, but good linear feel. Did require the Hawk recommended break in / burnish. Haven't driven them hard yet, but confidence to do so is now there.

Just looked those up. Interesting I heard folks talking about those one pieces and didn't realize they worked on the stock caliper. May have to keep those in mind on down the road. Do they perform better than the OEM Padlets?

I wish I had known about them when I owned my Z06.

About 80% less dust, it's not corrosive, and are just as effective for street use (there are other Carbotechs for track use).

That's what I went with. About $120 for the set, and very low dust and noise. These perform just as good as the dusty and noisy stock pads. I replaced my stock pads at about 25,000 miles.

When I heard the squeal and grinding my teeth in my GS they head to go. I got my GS 3 years ago at 18K miles and they were changed before 19K. Actually I've ran them now for 12K miles and no issues.

For a high quality low dust performance street pad I would recommend the Carbotech 1521 100% made in the USA. Non-corrosive dust will not harm your wheels or paint. You can order on line at http://ampdautosport.com/brake-pads/corvette/ or call me at 216-780-8825. The part numbers you need are front CT1185-S and rear CT1185R-S these are the 1 piece design . Use promo code z28 at check out to receive your forum discount.

The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non-corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

If your just using for street use. Duralast gold for about 100.00. Save about 400-500 dollars.
Get 2 sets of fronts. They work on both front and back. you’ll have a few extra pads so after a few brake jobs you’ll have a free Set lol.

I was out in the car yesterday and man I really needed my brakes and they worked just fine.

I changed my original OEM dust and squeal makers to GM ceramics, and they have given me no issues. No noticeable stopping power from the originals.
I don't track or do any power braking, so normal use for my scenario

Akebono's for my base C6 about 6-7 years ago, I seem to remember they MAY not make them for GS's although that could have changed by now, you might wanna check that. About $140, stop as good as if not better then the OEM's and ZERO dust and squeal. Akebono's come OEM on many cars...
