Default Garage door opener

The garage door opener on my 2006 C-6 quit working, does the opener in the car,s visor take a battery, or where else should I look?

No battery, it's hard wired to the car.

Did you try relearning the car to the opener? If the button failed you could always use one of the remaining 2.

mine stopped working when i got a new door motor & door

did anything change?

i have to use my phone now or carry the 2nd opener that came with the new stuff. Im not sure if this is something you would consider, but i have the MyQ app which runs through your phone..(door has to be WiFi though)

Some doors may not be compatible with the opener.

thats correct, there is a 100 dollar module you have to install for the OEM garage controls to work, at that point, the free app seems to be pretty useful since the phone is always with me

i think everything after 2014 works though

our yukon is a 2013 and it wont work either.....sheesh....technology these days LOL

Just changed my door motor last week. The new one was able to be programmed easily to a 2013 and a 2014 GM vehicle. The 2006 C6 required a $100 box to relay the "older" frequency to the new receiver.

The LED light flickers, when I hold the button in. Note: the garage door will open if I am parked right under it. But if my vehicle is just outside, it will not open the door. It acts like a low battery. I just did a load test on my car battery and the reading was 85%, which my manual said,s it should be good.

I would try another remote to see if it works. Since it works close you could look for some interference? Buy any new toys lately? Trying to rule out the head unit RF circuit (receiver)

No new toys. But the dame thing is. The opener on the visor has not worked the past two weeks. Now today I try it and it is now working fine.

I put a new door opener and had a very difficult time reprograming the car. BTY Genie belt drive opener also was USB internet WiFi. after about ten tries it's worked ever since. On my other garage door the car programed on the first try but older chain drive no WiFi

My car is a 2012 with the 3 LEDs above the buttons, and the door opener is probably a 2016 Craftsman model. I can't for the life of me get them to work. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks

I'd check the opener antenna to make sure it was clear of any obstruction.

What MY?
IF your opener's not the new design, a rolling code type, it should work.
I learned:
a) Be patient.
2) Follow manual precisely. There're very specific and short time frames that must be met w/ needed for each step so be ready to immediately respond. Overrun time period and it defaults to step 1.
3) Easiest done in shade due to ultra-small LEDs being so frickin' dim.
I missed 'em blinking several tries before figuring out WTH was going on.

Gawd love GM.

Does your opener have an antenna wire that hangs down and, if it does, is there any chance it got moved? When I renovated me garage, I moved (tried to hide) the antenna wire that hangs down from the opener without thinking it through. Didn't affect the buttons in my Camaro or Traverse, but the buttons in my Corvette stopped working until I moved the antenna on the opener back.
