2012 Center Console heats up
HELP
I just purchased a 2012 centennial, with 26,000 miles on it. I noticed that the center console started to get extremely hot including the cup holders. Can anyone tell me if they experienced this and what the cause?

Normal. Its the headers and torque tube that run down the middle spine of the car to the trans / exhaust in the rear. Its probably more the exhaust piping than anything else, causing it... but surely its all a hot mess in there.
Track days, I wear jeans even if the event will allow shorts because it gets hot enough to be uncomfortable to the touch.

That's normal. The torque tube runs right under there. All c5+ do this

All Corvettes get this. Especially the old ones from 1968 - 1972 big block engines. The heat comes in from the engine compartment because everything is packed in that tiny space. Also on Newer Corvettes you will get heat in the cabin area from rear end diff, transmission and exhaust.

Normal. Poor heat insulation from the motor beneath the console, plus two exhausts and 4 catalytic converters under there.
My first drive home in my brand new 2013 GS cooked my cell phone and melted some chocolate bars I had brought along for the trip. I was shocked.
Lots of products and kits you can buy to fix it if so inclined. Part of the Corvette charm. Good luck.

What many of us have done is remove the console and insulate the tunnel area with a thermal peel & stick product. Search amazon for peel & stick thermal automobile insulation, there are several to choose from.
