How many of you leave your hoods up after driving Corvette to cool off engine?
After you have secured your Corvette in a garage do any of you leave the hood up to let all of the heat escape to prolong the life of engine components made of rubber and plastics?

Why?
It'll cool off just fine without doing this.
Millions of cars all over the U. S. are left with the hood closed after a trip every day. They're okay.

Yes, I open the hood nearly every time even on our daily driver.
Heat is not a friend to plastic and rubber. (shifter bushing)
As long as everything lasts three years, auto makers are happy. How about you?

No, never done it on any car I have owned. Several which were in the upper 100k miles. The vette is just a car with an engine in it. It isn't anything special when compared to the components in it and other cars.
The Vette is just a car, a great car, but still just a car.

Occasionally in the summer here in Arizona. It gets mighty hot in there.

Yes of course, foolish not to. Every time I drive it and park I open the hood and fan it with a cool wet towel. I also have a portable tent secured in the cargo area that I can easily set up to park under to block the harmful sun rays. BTW never ever drive in the rain, I've been told Vette's melt when they get wet.

If you buy a car and need to leave the hood open after driving it you've either bought a piece of crap, or you're overthinking it. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised either way with these cars though.

Well the oldest C6s are quickly approaching 15 years old and I haven't heard of any heat related failures of "engine components made of rubber and plastics," so I guess they were built alright.
