Default Shipping options for cross country

I'm looking at picking up a C6Z and several of them are located further than I have time to drive. What people/companies do you recommend for shipping a car clear across the country say from California to NY without breaking the bank. What is the typical price to expect to pay for an enclosed trailer CA-NY and is it worth the risk to ship on an open trailer ?

Don't know about CA-NY route but from Wisconsin - NY is estimated around $1,500. I would bank on $2,200-$3,000

I'll drive it for the cost of gas.

Call Reliable or Plycar for rates but I think in the $2500 range.

A guesstimate for long distances is around 50 cents/mile open and close to $1/mile enclosed.

I would love to drive it home but don't have 4-7 days to do it as much as I would love the experience. Would probably cost me the same in the end. Thanks for the info.

Do shippers insure the cars by value or purely by weight like a house mover ?

Not sure, but I would contact my car insurance company as well.

Too bad you can't drive it home, that would be a great ride!!

Now that I’m retired maybe I should hire myself out to fly out and deliver Corvettes. Could definitely be a win-win situation.

I just shipped a z06 from Orange County California to Madison WI. Covered transport and it only took like 3 days. I used United Routes. I've shipped cars before, but honestly this was very hassle free and only cost me 1800. I would definitely use them again if I was shipping a car somewhere.

I’ve shipped vintage and exotics several times cross country. Cost about 2,200 for enclosed trailer. I usually use Intercity who are great. Used Plycar once, it was the worst experience.

I have never needed to ship a car but if I did I would use Tri-Logistics LLC They ship alot os super high end cars and have all the equip and knowledge to so it safely. Plus your car isn't on a semi with alot of other cars and possibly having to move on and off the trailer multiple times. Check them out on Facebook. They are pretty impressive.

Reliable transport enclosed. What if you drive thru a heavy hailstorm! Reliable ships all the high end cars to NYC for the April car show.

I used we-transport it to ship my Vette not issues from Dallas to Boston for $1,000 no issue and professional delivery.

If you want enclosed trailer it was a couple hundred more.

This Callaway was heading to Indianapolis.

Just had a SLK55 AMG shipped from New Jersey to NE Ohio using Plycar. Very happy with the service.
