Memorial Day
The origins of Memorial Day date back to the American Civil War era when, in the months following the war, American’s across the country began holding tributes to the countless fallen soldiers, decorating their graves and reciting prayers. In the years following, this grew into what finally become a National day of remembrance, Memorial Day; a day set aside to commemorate all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country in all wars and conflicts America has been involved in. As you enjoy your three day weekend or go about your daily business today, please take a moment to pay homage, even if it is just a silent thank you, to all those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country, our way of life and the freedoms we all to often take for granted today.
