New vette owner and second owner of a C6, going to need tires not a daily driver just weekends. Very confused with different compounds of tires and tread life. Any recommendations?

Welcome!
You're a weekend cruiser, you don't need to worry yourself about compounds or mileage ratings. Any brand will work for you.
Here is some reading material for you, some are on topic, others not so much: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...rchid=75438060

Like 919 said if its a weekend cruiser mileage considerations are unimportant. The biggest topic here is to go run flats or not. Michelins are a safe bet [great tire, not so great price]. OH and welcome to the forum.

I just got my C6 last week and it needed tires badly. A quick search and comparison on this forum as well as the Tire Rack and Discount Tire websites pointed me to the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. My local Discount Tire had Memorial day discount so about 1150 for the set after taxes without road hazard. They are not run flats.

My road warrior queen answer to this is that RFs have come a hell of a long way from 2005.
There really is not any reason to not use RFs anymore. NOT GYs. Those are truly RunCraps!
Michelin has some really good ones. I love the PSS, but if you need A/S tires they are also very good..

Run flats have stiff sidewalls. I found they followed grooves on freeway and moved the car side to side. I went non run flat Hankook Ventus, give great ride without following grooves on freeway. Good price too.

If you read the thousand threads on tires you’ll be an expert and won’t be confused. Lol
welcome to the forum. You didn’t provide much other than you own a C6.
I assume your car is a base model (non Z06, GS, or ZR1). As that little bit of information would help us tell you which tire to buy.

Bang for your buck right now the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's. Performance per dollar would be the new Continental Extreme Contact Sports IMHO.

I run these on my base vert and love them. Especially for the price! Have an extra set in garage waiting too

I notice quite a few tire people talking about their tires not following grooves in the highway which probably would be a little bit of a nuisance if it went on for to long. But with that said.....just how many people experience enough "grooved" highways on a regular basis that would suggest to buy tires just because one style would/could defeat that small inconvenience ?........

Just bought a set of Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 for my Z06, not inexpensive, a superb tire costs.
Replaced 5 y/o Michelins which lasted 4.5 yrs & 20K. Not bad.
At 12K my GYs were downright dangerous, worn to hell & I drive responsibly.
Worst of all, GY's product is flat-out among the most expensive HP tires there are. Just compare.
I prefer a runflat, getting stuck w/ a flat does nothing for me. Too many variables, none of which would go my way.
YMMV
Whatever you land on, IMO, the MOST important thing is getting it aligned properly immediately following installation.
Have camber set as close to zero as possible, unless tracking.
Search 'Pfadt Alignment for Corvette', use 'Street/Performance' for casual cruising.
Otherwise watch helplessly as inside fronts literally melt away before your eyes, regardless how easy car's driven. Lovely experience.
Chevrolet put an aggressive neg camber on all C6 from the factory.
Idea was, I guess, all owners track therefore wanted best corning possible, tire wear be damned.
Problem is not all owners track, that aggrieve alignment wears the front insides so fast it'll reduce a grown man to tears.
Get the camber to/close to zero and save yourself a LOT of grief, and $.
