If you've been through the "new key fob and programming" process, I'd appreciate your feedback. When I got my 2008 C6 last week, it only came with the #2 key fob and that one has a little damage to the case but still works. I've searched the forum and have a pretty good idea of the process but thought I'd line it out here and see if I missing anything or should do something differently based on your experience.
1. Buying 2 compatible key fobs with key from Amazon listed at $140 for the pair. (These are generic and do not have the Corvette emblem on them. OEM style appear to run about $140 each and up.)
2. Follow instructions for the long process to reprogramming and assign key fob 1 and 2 to the new key fobs, and 3 to the one received with the car.
3. Get keys cut with local locksmith or dealership.
Follow the procedures and it should work out for you just fine. I had the same thing when I bought my car. Just keep in mind that the car will detect which key fob you are using and use that for the memory seats if you have them, dash message at startup, and the stored radio channels. I'm not sure if there is anything else that changes. You can program all 3 fobs.
