Default Power Steering Fluid

Is the Power Steering Fluid from the factory, in the C6 Grand Sport Conventional of Synthetic? Fluid level is low and would like to add some. Can Synthetic be mixed with conventional? I am the second owner and I have no idea what the previous owner used.

Check on your owners’ manual i don’t think it’s synthetic oil

Don't know for sure if it's synthetic but I suspect it is not. Pull the lower hose off the rack and drain it all out, then refill. I have been using Valvoline full synthetic Dexron 6 ATF with great results for years. It usually quiets down noisy pumps.

I bought several bottles of Valvoline synthetic. After a drive, I used a turkey bastor and siphoned out the fluid from the reservoir and refilled with fresh fluid. Drive again, repeat etc etc.

In my 2005 owner manual the part number has been superseded.

Current I have is # 19329448 (AC Delco 10-5073) 32 ounces bottle.

Don't know if synthetic and yes, I turkey baster.
Plus congrats on keeping this oil/ fluid fresh!

Probably either or would/will work fine but keep this in mind. If it's low then you may have a leaking issue, or hopefully it may have just not been filled correctly. The fluid doesn't just magically disappear.

I just purchased this vehicle. I see no leakage, on floor or in engine compartment. I have no idea how long it has been low. I'll fill it and keep a eye on it. Thanks
