I installed a Blackvue with Blendmount. Worked very well. Impressed with Blendmount. Also installed a cam in three other cars.
I did not, however, install rearview in my Vette. I have a convertible and wasn't sure where to put it. Have both front and back views in my truck and works really well.
One thing I found was a power cord that connects the OBD. Simplifies everything. Used fuse box for first install with Blackvue's "Power Magic Pro Hardwiring Kit." Worked good once installed. The OBD cord is really simple. Got it off eBay.
Just yesterday I installed 2 Blackvue Dash Cams. One in the wifey's car and one in my Vette. I also installed the Power Magic Pro which allows for a "Parking Mode" operation without the possibility of battery drain as it will shut off the camera if the battery falls below the set threshold. I am so far very happy with the cameras. I decided to go with the Blackvue due to their solid reputation. Dashcamstore.com had a 10% off Memorial Day sale and their prices are already competitive with Amazon so it was a good deal. Previously I have purchased a couple of lesser expensive models from Amazon and they turned out to be junk and didn't last long. If you're going to go to the trouble of installing one of these you damn sure want them to function reliably. I have a front camera mounted in my grill fascia and rear-view camera mounted on my rear plate frame and a dual mode setup on my Pioneer head unit so I can toggle at will and see either view on my video display.
Thank you all for your advice! Being I own an '05 which never has any battery issues (yeah, right) I like the idea of a camera that will shut off when the battery voltage drops. I want a front and rear view. I have been rear-ended twice both times at stop lights. The last time so hard it shoved me into the car stopped in front of me so I got sandwiched. So I am definitely going to get a video set-up. Again, thank you for your help.

On my 05 I replaced original 2004 battery in 2018. During the first 3 years I did not use a battery tender. I ended up getting a Professional AC/Delco battery (optional with more CCA) since the original AC Delco lasted so long.
