Default What is this?

The only thing on my car that doesn’t look nearly spotless. The underside of the car looks better than this. This is centered on the trunk under the lid. Can obviously only be seen when the trunk is open. 2006 convertible. Thanks!

I don't know but I'm gonna' run right out and see what mine looks like.

I can't find anything that looks like that so I guess it's a "vert" thing. Definitely rusty.

Got the same deal on my '12 vert... only no rust. It appears to be an adjustable bumper for the tonneau. Clean it up, paint it, and don't worry about it.

I agree; you're catching it when it's still able to be redone. Good luck with it. Might want to use some rust preventative paint, too.

Same thing on my 2006 convertible. I used an artist's brush and painted it with black rust oleum paint.

That’s my plan. I have a “rust lock” paint I can brush on first. Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up. Mine's okay, I live in a dry climate.

LOL, I actually live in the snowiest metropolitan area in the Country.....upstate NY. But, as far as I can tell this car never saw winter or salt (and hasn't hit 29,000 miles yet). The underside of the car has no rust, but this odd little part looks like it's seen 10 of our winters!
