This would be for recording traffic behind you on dash cam. Not for reverse parking. Seems to be that the majority of dash cams don't offer this rear cam recording but there are a few.

You are correct.
I would likely be able to make a bracket to attach both a front and rear facing camera.

Front facing was my main concern for people pulling out in front or recording track laps. A rear camera would be useful, but if somebody hits the back of your car, it's mostly on them to prove you did something if they want out of the ticket.

Granted if the mirror is not too low, you can spend the camera 180° to face the back of the car. The mirror is too low on the C6, but adjusting a stalk mount mirror up would allow you to see underneath and behind in some cars.

If you are like alot of of drivers here your rear window might be tinted in which case that will defeat the ear inside dash camera if that camera is inside the interior.

in that case, people might just have to stick a GoPro on the outside of the car.

I have no idea about what a GoPro is or cost and install. I notice motorcyclists wear those a lot but I don't know if it covers both rear and front.
