Considering upgrading to a C7!
I'm strongly considering selling my IOM GS Vert 4LT,with 11K miles, and purchasing a '17 GS Vert.....thoughts?.....value of my car, just can't really decide 100%!

If you have the extra $$ around it may be a good time to purchase a C7 as I heard the dealers are lowering their prices because of the C8 arrivals. It sounds like you have a beautiful car already . It’s a decision that only you can make! Good luck

If a C7 is your thing, go for it. I just bought my C6 GS and could have chosen from some nice base or Z51 C7's for almost the same money. But, since even the C7 body style will be "old" in a month and the C6 is and always has been my favorite, and thus far the prospects of what I've seen in the C8 don't strike me at all, I went with the C6. I'm not trashing the C7 or C8 at all; not even hating on them - I just like the C6 better.

Why buy a new one when yours isn't even broken in yet? IOM is a fantastic color to give up as well. You've already been hit with most of the depreciation on the GS, I would say unless you feel the need to update to a newer gen, or your mind is set, keep what you have.
For reference, your car would probably sell somewhere in the 33-37.5K range private party. Trade in would make you sick, offers from dealers would most likely be in the 26K range.
Good luck with your choice! Not always easy to make.

Not sure why we always seem to think that buying the newest model of anything is an "upgrade". Sure the newer the more tech savoy it will be. But in the real corvette world, esp. when it comes to value of.....the Big Block 60's cars are the true "upgrade"......

Too Much Fun
I sold my C7 last year and loved it and was going to buy another one a couple of month ago but ran across a fantastic deal on a supercharged convertible C6!
With that said the C7 is an amazing machine. As for the don't get a A8 advice I had an A8 with ZERO issues and loved it! Technology wise it is a very advanced C6.
I loved my C5's, C6's, and C7..... And loved certain things about each generation more than others. You can't go wrong with either one. Keep what you have or "upgrade" both are great cars! Launch control on C7 works GREAT FYI!

Landru I agree with this question? Did you own a C7 and have a problem with this tranny? Or did you hear about the low percentage of people that had an issue with theirs that GM took care of? Bad advice you are giving based on my "experience" having had this transmission.
I had a 2015 with an A8 with NO issues and loved every second of that transmission!

Go to C7 General, a search will yield much discussion.
A8 is a really trick piece of engineering, have a variation in a '18 CTS Lux.
However A8's had some serious issues, shuddering issues plagued C7 since its intro.
At first for under warranty cars trans was flushed 3 times, refilled.
Next step, replace TC.
Still shuddering?
Have any fight left to pursue this further w/ a dealer, and, by extension GM?
Last step's replacing entire transmission.
IF still problematic after that, you're stuck.
Imagine trying to rectify this BS if out-of-warranty & on your dime.
Lots of preowned C7 A8 on the market w/ no warranty coverage, whatsoever.
Last I heard was GM formulated some super-duper new fluid.
Results as reported?
Sometimes it worked. Sometimes it doesn't.
How lucky do you feel?
Willing to accept potential great pain for something that's supposed to be enjoyable?
*NOT every A8 has had the awful problems mentioned above, plenty of owners haven't & love their A8.
Unfortunately there's also a sizable # of owners who've had the opposite experience.
It's a part of the mystery behind why some A8s perform flawlessly & others don't.
And FWIW GM STH doesn't seem to know otherwise it'd have been rectified years ago.
You've been warned, get an A8 & pray it's one of the good ones.
For my part I simply will not take such a risk, not for a damned transmission anyway.

2022 C6 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
I know what you mean about moving to a C7, some days I like them and some days I don't. Prices are dropping and now seems like a good time to make the move.

I would wait if I were you. I think once the C8 is officially announced and people start moving on the prices will really come down a decent amount.
