I don't drive my car during the height of the love bug season. It's just to much work, and if you don't get them off the paint immediately , they eat into the clear coat!
I use a vacuum cleaner crevice tool that has a small round brush along the slot.
I run the car up on the blocks, then brush upwards on the core to loosen the bugs & suck them up.
Gets at the whole core, I can't do that with the garden hose.
You can get a can of foaming condenser cleaner, that will "push" the bugs and dirt out of the condenser, making them easier to rinse off. I would just be careful spraying it around the painted surfaces.
Remove the upper radiator support. Make a water wand with 3/8 copper tubing and fittings for a garden hose. Slide a piece of cardboard between the condenser and radiator and spray the radiator from the backside. Then insert the wand between the cardboard and the condenser and spray it out.
