Didnt read everything, but what he is doing is using a final step product with a crapload of fillers. It will look great at first, but it wont last.

I am just as curious as this forum, will give all the info Friday afternoon when I get car back. As long as he doesn't burn thru anything whats the worst that could happen, I get a clay and wax job for $90 that I DESPERATELY need, like I said I have spent more on lunches.

Nothing like a freshly detailed Grand Sport.

Definitely looking forward to the results. I am sure it will be better than it is now and all good. Like you said as long as he doesn't burn through the clear, which if he is as experienced and you have seen his work, I think it will be fine.

Yes it will be good or bad. I have nothing to hide. It's only $90. Now if I paid $1000 and got a $90 detail that would be embarrassing, Dropped it off at 9:00am, I was told to expect a call to pick it up around 2:00. Results coming up!

I did mine with a Griots last summer. First time I ever used a machine to polish my car. Took about 4 hrs, turned out OK. In the meantime I've learned about pads and different products. Waiting for a day to try my hand again!!
Good Luck with yours.

OK the results are in! It came out well, not great. The paint correction looks to be about 70%. There are still some swirls, not big ones and not really noticeable but if you know where and how to look you can see some. How well does the paint pop, on a 1-10 scale about a 8.2. With a ceramic coat I guess it would have hit the 10. Smoothness, absolute10 but I guess that was to be expected. Am I satisfied, yes because the car looks vastly improved and all for only $90 bucks, no damage to car and I didn't have to lift a finger. Could it have come out better, sure but not for $90. Here are some pics from my cell. not great but you can get some sort of idea.

If your happy, that's all that matters.

It does look good, and he is using a good wax. I just changed from the Americana to Adams Patriot wax. Lake you say $90 and it is an improvement and you are happy that is what matters, not what we think.

I realize now that this guy takes the safe approach. I think he needed to go to a actual compound like say 105 to achieve a better result. I don't think a polish and wax got enough of the desired cutting action needed.

Bottom line is I guess I got nice refreshed paint and it is now protected. My car always had a nice shine waxed or not, this enhanced it a little more. Did I expect a little more judging by the cars I looked at, sure, but I now realize the cars I seen already done were maybe new, 1 or 2 years old. My car is going on 7 years old and is not garage kept, but I don't use it much. All and all did it come out like a true $1000 correction detail? Absolutely not. But I sure as hell got my $90 worth and the car looks really good now.
