Theft deterrent system
Has anyone heard of this problem? Intermittently while I am driving, the "Theft deterrent" light on the instrument panel will flash on and the car will shut off. It restarts and runs fine. It's either running fine or it is being shut down completely when the light comes on.

Problem resolved
There is a part of the theft deterrent system that is called the vehicle theft deterrent. There is a module in the dashboard that communicates with the door locks via radio frequency. If the proper response is not received from the door locks this module sends a signal to the ECM to shut down the fuel. I found this to be very interesting since I have never heard of this.
In my case, the module in the dashboard was okay, but the ECM was either shutting off the fuel on it's own or completely shutting down. The good news is that I was always able to re-start the car. Anyway, had a new ECM installed and the car is functioning as designed.
