Key fobs don't quit working unless they need a new battery or the car needs a new battery. Having a different or newer fob won't help.
Try putting one of the fobs in the slot in the glove box and see if the car will start. A fob in that slot should work, even if the fob battery is dead.

I was having tons of fob not found issues which completely solved when I threw out the cheap batteries the wife bought and replaced them with energizers. Unless physical damaged, try batteries first

Some types of batteries will not work effectively. The ones with a pinhole pattern are hit and miss as per some older threads. I always make sure I buy ones that are smooth (better contact?)
Make sure the negative side of the battery is smooth.
NO GOOD

A 2pk of Duracell Lithium (2032) is $7.98. I just replaced the OEM batteries in both FOBs last week. Had been in use since 10/2012.

A cell phone plugged into the electrical outlet in the console of the car will mess up the signal.
Strong electronic sources outside the car will do the same, like when you park near a strong electronic signal at a place of business.
Be sure you don't have the fob in your pocket and also have a metal object of some kind in that same pocket, like a cell phone.

There are things inside the car and things outside the car that will interfere with that signal.

they hang from my belt loop with one of those fake mountain climbing things. it seems when the car is hit works even less lol

Some of what you need to know about how FOBs work - https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1596708841 The system is so good at what it was designed to do that sometimes people expect it to do things that it won't because they don't understand it isn't a simple receiver of a FOB signal. For example, lock the doors. Place the FOB on the driver's door ledge. Open the driver's door. Works. Now lock the car again and leaving the FOB on the driver's door, try to open the passenger door. Nope. The FOB can't hear the signal from the passenger antenna. Reverse the locations and you will get the same results. Years ago lots of people were worried that someone could open their car because the FOB was only 10 feet away. Nope. That is much too far for the FOB to hear the car's challenge request. But I've popped the hatch on mine from more than 100 feet away because that was the FOB initiating the transmission and not the car.
The transmitter/receiver is in the dash but there are multiple transmit antennas. Since the transmitted signals from the car are very low power it is quite susceptible to interference and FOB battery voltage. But since the FOB transmitted signal is very strong the car not receiving an answer is seldom an issue. The car battery can also be an issue but that usually has additional symptoms. I have never heard of the electronics of a FOB failing unless there was physical damage such as washing it. A new battery and ensuring good clean contact.solves 99% of the issues.
