Hey Guys! Wondering if this happened to any of you?
Last week my car started to feel like it didn't have enough power to start but it started. Yesterday it didn't, after replacing the battery for a new one, now the dash shuts down completely when I tried to start ;-/
Any external high energy signals in the neighborhood? Anything plugged into a power socket in the car, like a cell phone charging in the socket in the console?
Have someone check the new car battery for installation and power.
Although it's a new battery, it could be bad; first thing I'd do is have it tested. Had that happen a while ago when I replaced a battery in my wife's CUV. Bought a new battery from AutoZone, installed it and car wouldn't start; took the battery back and had it tested, it was bad. Now, whenever I buy a new battery, I have them test it before I leave the store.
Did you reprogram the Key? I had a loose negative cable and it made me think the battery was bad, the alternator etc... i put the key in teh keyhole in the glove box 2 -4 times and tada, it worked.
When i tried ot start it, it would go from power tot he dash to a loud click like the batter didn't have enough cranking power... very odd.
IF battery is confirmed good, check connections to starter.
No location listed, again, nevermind MY; but, FYI sunbelt state C6 owners (where it's hot) have reported brittle/broken wiring at solenoid/starter due to excessive heat.
Especially prone if there're headers, involved, too.
Confirm battery is good first, next check S/S wiring.

Sounds about right! I'm in Florida and I do have headers installed ;-)
So I shouldn't worry about being the computer or something expensive? the battery is good at 13.5v
Not quite yet my friend, there're a few things to check/confirm first before throwing $ at this.

Check those connections being extra careful not to short against anything while fiddling around, better yet disconnect battery altogether.
Just remember to reindex windows once reconnected.
Use a flashlight, slightly tug on cables & closely inspect solenoid looking for breakage on solenoid bakelite.
Didn't mention MY but starter/solenoid wiring can & does deteriorate, older the C6 more likely this has happened.
When wiring/solenoid's burned/broken, symptoms are just like yours.
That stuff checks out OK, time to start thinking starter.
Again similar symptoms when starter's going south.
