Anyone know if a 2006 to 2013 c6 center console or bezel will fit in my 2005 c6 model?
The main problem is the "tombstone" which (I believe) are on the 2005 to 2007 center consoles. If the tombstone is blank (no lights or controls) then the newer console should fit. The '05' has a AirBag off light in the tombstone.
another vote for the kenwood set up. I bought mine from Crutchfield and bought the plug and play harness. I did not feel comfortable installing it but had it done at Best Buy. Two hundred dollars and they did the camera, radio, etc. Love it. Going back soon to have the front camera done.
Can anyone comment on Excelon vs non-Excelon for Kenwoods? Can you tell any difference in sound quality with stock non-bose speakers between the two? Seems the main difference is 5 volt preamp vs 4 volt preamp. There is an old video stating Excelon advantage was 4v at that time. Now base is at 4v and Excelon is at 5v. Just curious if anyone can notice a difference with the newer head units.
I have an 05 C6 Z51 and just replaced mine with a 10 GS console and it looks great. I just popped out the passenger air bag light from the tombstone and hid it under the new console and its not very large.
The newer consoles will fit the early cars with the tombstone.
If you have the F55 option (MSRC) the Tour/Sport switch is different. Forum guru Ray Kawal has an adapter harness to enable using the later (2008+) switch with the early (2005-2007) cars.
