Question about Key Fob
let see if I get this right , I have a convertible C6 2009 , I have fob one and fob two
my fob one does not work right , I change the battery 3 times still doesn't work right
I clean the contacts , still doesn't work right , my question is
can I buy another fob and make it fob one ? thanks

You must use the long procedure to reprogram all the fobs you have if you want one of those fobs that's not already programmed as fob #1 to be programmed as #1. Just a reminder, the fob number that's engraved on the fob itself means nothing to the car. That number is only for your reference. It's what fob number the fob was programmed to the car as.
Using the long procedure also makes all fobs other than the ones you programmed are now no good.

Or use a tech II and you can program the fob right into the desired RCDLR slot without having to play the relearn game for all the other fobs.
Hence longer key procedure erases all the fob and you have to program them back into the RCDLR in the order you want them in the slot numbers. So fob #1 has to be programmed in as the first one, then Fob #2 has to be programmed in next into RCDLR slot2 , and so on.
With tech II you go into the RCDLR, select the fob slot number you want to program out and program another into, without having to play the long erase all/program all back in game instead. Also, you don't have to play the 30 min waiting game as well.
If for no other reason, good time to pick up a VX GM Nano (Tech II/MDI clone) for around $100 to make short work of not only this, but working on the car that you may need a Tech II for as well.
