I knew my lights were crazed and was worried it was internally. Thankfully it was the clear coat, and these have turned out great so far. I'm waiting on some buffing pads to come in to finish SO THIS IS STILL A WORK IN PROGRESS, JUST AFTER DAY 1, but if your lights are CRAZED and you don't want to replace the lens, just know the sanding method will likely work. I plan on using some spraymax 2k to clear them, and buff that out too. I was pretty nervous doing this too.
I used 3" Velcro pads attached to my drill and worked my way from 180/240/400/600/800/1000/1200/2000/3000/ rubbing compound by hand and then I'm going to mechanically polish soon. And yes wet sanded too every layer. 240 grit 180 grit I think 1k grit? 2k grit 3k Hand polish Passenger side before After hand polish
Nice job. Did you use the SprayMax primer & 2K clear?
I decided against the 2k after reading how hazardous it is. 3m makes a clear coat wipe that actually worked a LOT better than I thought.

Yeah, I don't know. Will get one for the next side tho
I guess I figured it's just water spots and I was gonna rinse it after so I wasn't too worried considering I'd needed to wax it soon anyway. She's sat outside the last 2 years so being in a garage she's getting pampered..
I'm convinced though sanding is the way to go vs pulling the lights. I was 1000% convinced the crazing was on the inside of the lights and I feel like anyone can shine theirs up too with some good ol fashion elbow grease.. I was way too scared to take them off, put em in the oven etc.

They look Great!
I did mine the same way but..........I did not like the color variation between the body and the burnt out color inside the headlights.
I went and replaced the lenses and while the headlights were out I had the body shop paint the inside. Now my headlights match the body color perfectly.

Yeah luckily the paint on the inside still looks the same as the body!
