Help installing EOS zr1 front splitter for base c6.
I have looked through as many of the post I can find on how to install the EOS zr1 front splitter on my base c6.
So far I really haven’t found anything helpful. The splitter seems to small. Any help is greatly appreciated.
You eyeball it and then drill holes and screw it on. I just did this and bases aren't designed like the gs/z06/zr1 with factory mounting holes so you have to drill your own.
When you do as Narddog said, I suggest putting some painters tape at the locations you will be drilling before you do it. I did that for my rear spoiler install and it really helps keep the drill bit in place and make for cleaner holes.
Yep.. and double sided tape is useless for the EOS splitters. They need to be fully drilled and mounted to look good and stay put. These 100+ degree texas days have made me need to remount mine since the tape has turned to almost goopy-butter (screwed in too, but the tape is slacking)..

The manufacturer for my spoiler claimed the tape was enough for the spoiler... guess some people don't realize Oklahoma has 100+ days and tape doesnt work in that lol... And don't worry.. I won't hold it against you that you live in Texas

Even if I wasnt in Texas the tape is not enough. The side splitters have ridges between where you'd bolt it to the car, so when it's on the car those ridges don't even touch the body. You would only have like 1/2" pieces of tape on and ino way I'd trust that. At least with the side ones, the very front actually has a bolt to the car and the rear is attached to the mudflap which is bolted to the car. The front splitter (given its true straight) absolutely needs bolted! Real shame buy I guess that's just how they are.
I am assuming you ordered the ZR1 style splitter for a base, not just a ZR1 splitter. If you did not order for the base model it will never fit. I ordered one along with the side skirts and spoiler. The splitter never looked right so removed it. But as far as mounting, I of course had the car up on jack stands, and I removed the two outer pieces of the stock air dam. I then took two jack stands and placed them on each side of the car and had a 1x4 placed on them to support the splitter. I attached the splitter using one of the bolts that held the air dam to the outer point that the air dam was attached to. Then did the same on the other side. Once it was attached to the outside attachment points I then lined it up with the bumper and with self tapping screws I started in the middle and then worked both ways. While it was attached it just did not look right it seemed bent or warped. I ended up ordering one from RPI Design and used the same method to attach it and it looks fine.
While the splitter did not fit correctly, I had no issue with the side skirts and spoiler. I am sure that if I had contacted EOS we could have worked something out. Also After installing the new splitter from RPI, I then ordered a replacement set of side skirts from EOS that they had in the hydrocarbon look to match the front splitter.

You need to line up the front splitter starting from the center of the bumper. Making sure that you use all the provided self-tapping screws to attach the splitter and 3M double-sided tape is recommended. Please let us know if you have any other question.

I first want to say I should have mentioned that I never contacted you about this issue. I simply decided that I would rather have the carbon fiber look and you did not have those available. So I went with the RPI design. I did as I mention have the side skirts and spoiler from you on the car. I did buy a set of your carbon fiber side skirts and replaced the original skirts so it would match the spoiler.
