Trans Fluid

Good Morning, Question: What is a good transmission fluid for the MANUAL TRANS? All the auto parts stores around hear scratch their *** when you
tell them Manual trans fluid. Everything seems to says Automatic. GM 10-4033 is order only here. Trying to get this Vette off the hoist.

Thank you for your reply. The GM is a week away. I ordered but I would like to finish this GS on the lift. Looking fo a substitute brand I can get asap

I have used Redline MT-90 and Royal Purple Syncromax transmission fluids in several C5's and C6's with no problems. I actually prefer the Redline oil to the GM oil.

Hey Garry in Az. Those are great fluids. The only problem is nobody stocks it around here. I have to order and that takes 5 to 6 days.
All the good old speed shops are gone and the counter people here are from a younger generation. I think one day
soon the manual trans will be history.

You maybe correct however owners manual says GM 10-4033 manual trans fluid. Transmissions are a bit** to replace.

OP said he wasn't going to use Amsoil. But I've used it on a T56 in the past and after 200 miles or so it got better and better. After 1000 miles it was shifting MUCH smoother. I plan to do the same with my Z06 next summer
