2005 C6 Base.........Can the tpms system be removed without problems? If so what's next to do........? What are the pros & cons to doing this? Thanks in advance for any advice.

They can but I can't see why you would. You'll get a message every time you start your car.

Going on "TPMS System" I'd say no. You can remove the physical sensors in the rim, but it would detrimental in my opinion. The TPMS sensors reports/uses the Keyless Entry System (RCDLR) to communicate. The sensors report to the system hourly even when the vehicle is not moving and become fully active once over 20mph.

When the System sees less than 25psi you would get a DIC of "Low Tire Pressure".
When less than 5psi "Flat Tire" on the DIC and that would put the car in Limp Mode with Active Handling faults. You'd be limited to 50-55mph. My experience with limp mode limited me to about 35mph.

It was a Federal Law that all vehicles have this integrated, so I can't imagine it would be very easy to completely remove so you could get around it.
I wish there was even a way to temporarily/momentarily disable it such as for tracking/racing.
Oh the number of people who change their tires out for tracking/racing only to find this out. No TPMS = No go
There are creative ways to get around it though, but those are temporary since they monitor both speed and pressure.

True story!

I put c7z wheels on my c6z and they don't communicate. I have the proper sensors but kind of trying to wait it out until I need new tires. Since I have the cup 2 tires I feel it won't be that long until then though yes it sends me a message and flashes every time the car starts up and does get annoying so I don't know why you'd want to remove it.
