I have a 2007 Corvette Z06 and I purchased a second key fob but I can't get it to program, I followed the correct process as I have done this before with my other Vette. The issue is that when I put the key in the back and turn it 5 times the car won't display the "ready for key fob".
I had to wipe mine when I got it due to Max Fobs Learned (4) and I only had 1 when purchased.
Just to be sure..... "ready for fob" is not the first thing displayed on the DIC after successfully turning the key.
Again, just to be sure... the car should be off and the fobs should not be near the car (I've read not within 20ft) when using the key. You've done it b4, but yet again, just to be sure the key is to be turned 5 full complete times within 5 seconds.
I had the same problem, and found (in my case) I wasn't pushing the key hard enough ..tried a last time and made it, I pushed it completely (for 5 times) and it finally worked.

I had the same issues halfatruck did. Took at while (5 or 7 tries?) to hold my mouth just right, standing on my left foot only, to get the 5 *full* turns in before the 5 seconds was up.
I just fought this same problem. I believe that the dash has to be "awake". Start the car, roll down window, open glove box. Turn off car and immediately put the key in the trunk lock and open trunk. Then turn the key 5 times fast. If your dash lights are not on (awake) it won't go into programing mode.

This worked for me.
Dan...
thanks man, the dash being awake and manually pulling the latch from the inside worked for me
Wow. Resurrecting this thread, because I'm going through this right now. One time, once, the message came up "ready for fob #3" but I fumbled opening the door and it went away (the message).
Now I can't get it to come back. Car on, car off, accessory mode, dash awake, dash asleep... it's 5 degrees outside and windy and I'm getting pissed. Surely there's some trick to this that I'm missing?
Also, if you have not done so, read the first post in this thread. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...tructions.html
You can read as many of the other posts in that thread but there’s a lot. I’ve programmed 2 fobs to my car but I don’t recall any necessity to break the land speed record getting to the rear of the car. What makes it easier is to raise the hatch/trunk before you start the procedure and leave the key in the tumbler above the license plate. Now everything is ready to start twisting and it’s easier to see the DIC from behind to see if the message gets displayed, at least if you have a coupe. There’s also a way to avoid turning the key at all by using a couple of bent paper clips to make the circuit. It’s in one of the posts in thread above.
Yeah, that has been read multiple times and is my bible, thanks. But he never explicitly said to leave the door open, or closed, or in accessory mode, or not, etc. so you guys have helped clarify that for me.
Reading this thread, I guess it's normal for this to sometimes not work unless you are holding your tongue just right while balancing on your left leg. I'll just keep trying.
It was cold yesterday (it's cold here again today) so I was getting very annoyed.
