TPMS Issue
It was never the same wheel or set of wheels. Right side front back, Left front only, etc. Hit the reset, and of course the light would stay on. Then look to see what wheel(s), and then sometimes after a bit, they were all reading again!!! Pressure cold, 30 psi, and never had pressure issues. Would stop, for fuel, shut car off and when restarting, everything was fine???
Thoughts??
1st, how long have units sat on a shelf before selling? Not unlike fob batteries.
2nd, IF one or more are bad there's the expense of reinstalling ones that do work.
FWIW replaced all 4 of mine from a GM dealer selling on eBay. OEM, of course and heavily discounted vs retail.
Potential PITA issue(s) aren't worth the risk to me for certain non-OEM parts like TPMS.
Example: dealer needed to replace catalytic converter on my '08.
Problem was OEM CCs were on national backorder & naturally no one could say when they'd be available.
Dealer tells me they can install an aftermarket CC, even warranty as-if OEM *and* it'd be cheaper.
Hell yea, says I.
Few weeks later the exhaust note soured, developed a booming sound on decal, thought WTF.
HAD to be a muffler going south, I thought.
After blowing serious dough for a set of preowned bimodal pipes, still sour as hell.
Could only be one other thing, aftermarket CC altering flow affected the sweet tone I'd become used to over past 11 years ownership of my LS7.
Bought a slightly used OEM CC, had it installed and guess what?
Problem solved, a very expensive error on my part now filed under penny-wise and dollar foolish.
Never again, just isn't worth it in time OR $.
As I said, YMMV.
YMMV
