I bought a 2008 C6 Corvette and I’ve had it for a year ( an of course, she’s my baby!) But I know a bit about cars dating back to my young years and muscle car ownership...but I can’t work on mine when she acts up and I’m wondering where to take her in the Sacramento CA area for maintenance and repair? Dealership? Is there a Corvette specialty shop around here - the last guy I took her to for a starter replacement didn;t even have the lift pads, so I had to order them on Amazon and take them down to him. Geez. BTW, the shifter is starting to lock in park (read all about it on the CF). Suggestions for shops? Thanks. Hubby has a 2009.
If you go back to the muscle car era then you would be surprised how much you can do on the C6. Granted some trouble shooting will be more difficult without the proper test equipment, but a small block Chevy is still a small block. There are plenty of videos on YouTube.
When I say I can't , I mean it ... LOL! I've have quite a number of hot rod Chevys - 396's, SS's, etc. but only have head knowledge...and it's been too long and I'm too old. If you start talking about an engine part, etc, I know what you're talking about. And I can usually spot something not quite up to snuff, That's about it these days. LOL!

It's a bit of a drive, but Abel Chevrolet in Rio Vista is by far the most recommended service department for Corvettes in the greater SF Bay Area.
I do all my own work so I can't comment on their service department personally, but I do buy lots of parts from them.
