Default C6 Headlight Issue

Good morning all, I have an issue with my headlights and being new to the corvette ownership figured no better place than here to begin my quest of knowledge. I have an ‘06 base model and the headlights I cannot seem to turn them on at all. Neither side work, however the running lights come on when the car is started for a short time until the light sensor gets out of the garage. When I turn the auto lights switch on/off in darker situations (early mornings/evening) it says headlamps suggested. When I manually hit the button it will dim my dash as if they were turned on but they do not actually turn on. The turn signal lights are on- not sure if they’re connected to the same power source. I have read that the ballast could be an issue and only having the car for 4 days now I have no idea if those were ever replaced. Any info is appreciated. First step I’m gonna check fuses but father has borrowed it to test drive at the moment

Check to see if your fog/driving lights work. There is a recall for the headlights going out. They have to go into the fuse box to fix it. You can take it to a dealer and they can run the vin to see if yous was fixed. If it hasn't been done, they will do the fix for you. Make sure you go to a dealer that has done these before, there are some horror stories how some have been fixed. I was fortunate and my dealership had done many and have had no issues.

Fog lights are working. Every light minus the high and low beams seem to be working just fine

Inside the fusebox ("UBEC" in GM-speak) there is an internal wire that can break from thermal expansion and contraction. The wire is part of circuit no. 1970, which connects the BCM to the coil side of the low-beam relay. The circuit is switched to ground to turn on the lights, and left floating to turn them off. If swapping the relay doesn't fix it, probe the relay socket with your DMM in continuity mode to make sure this circuit is being grounded.

You can do major surgery on the UBEC and fix the wire yourself, but all C6s are eligible for a free repair of this problem under a safety recall. The official fix is a little cheesy - they leave the UBEC alone and install a jumper between two wiring harnesses that plug into the bottom.

Finding a good dealer should be your next step, unless you are gifted like the gentleman who explained in detail, which I'm not... I'm on my phone so I don't see where you are located for a suggestion.

I am in Indianapolis. I checked all my fuses and none were blown. Then I called the largest Chevy dealer in town and had them check the vin and they said that the recall had been done on this car. Sounds like I’m in for a potential costly repair by someone who can diagnose this with more car smarts than I have

The recall only affects the low beams, so if both your high, and lows are out, that ain't the problem. If you have that stock lights in yours, only the low beams are on a ballast (one on each side), and if I remember correctly, the high beams use a regular halogen bulb. I think the first thing I'd do is check for power at the connector using a multimeter, if you show power there then I'd suspect there's potentially an issue with the grounds.

Sounds like the perfect time to upgrade to the Morimoto headlights.

He is obviously not getting power to both headlights so he needs to solve the original issue before anything else.

As suggested, check the grounds, because on the C6, all the systems are ground operated.
Here is the light schematic which shows where the grounds are located. Remove the ground , clean, put dieclectric greaee on there, and re-install ground nut.
If cleaning the grounds don't work, and everything else seems OK (fuses, relays, etc.) then it could be a faulty stalk multifunction switch on the steering wheel.
