I know that there is a Sticky on this subject, but I'm curious if anyone recently has disconnected the battery, and did not lose the time on the NAV unit?
I have some work to do on the steering wheel, and want to disconnect the battery while removing the airbag on the steering wheel. I'm not sure if I want to do this without disconnecting the battery.
Fooling around with the airbag with the battery connected is asking for trouble. I've been told when doing anything with the airbag, disconnect the battery at least 15 minutes before doing any work. Some may say longer.
Why can't/won't the NAV clock reset once the battery is reconnected?

I hear you, and I agree it is not wise to fool around with the airbag without disconnecting the battery for at last 10 minutes.
The issue is, since Dec of 2018 to about March of this year, anyone who disconnected the battery lost the clock display (gopes blank) on the NAV unit, and it does not come back. I want to know if someone has recently disconnected the battery, and the clock display stayed intact on the Nav unit.
I don't want to lose the clock, as it may affect the Nav unit functions.

You have been a member here 15 years and your asking this question? It has been beaten TO DEATH the last couple of years.

There is a sticky on this in the C6 Tech section[/QUOTE]
Not quite accurate. It came back for some, but not all. It took weeks or months for the ones that did come back.
I have an '05. Had work done that required disconnecting the battery. No clock since 8/8/19 so about to go three months. Since my nav is old technology I just use the phone, though I would like the clock back.

That's what i was looking for, a recent battery disconnect. Thanks.
I'll be disconnecting in November sometime to install new shifter paddles, and maybe, if I'm lucky, the clock wil return before I bring out the car in April 2020
