Default Sequential manual

So what are peoples' thoughts on a "sequential" manual tranny like the BMW SMG or Ferrari F1? Personally, it seems like it would be a great 2-3k option. In fact I really can't imagine Corvette hoping to compete without one soon (3-4 years). What do y'all think?

Hopefully, it will be available or available soon. If and when it is, I'll trade my 02 in a heartbeat.

It doesn't sound like it's high on the list of priorities for the Corvette team. Remember that they do have to account for the fears and whims of the technophobes (who still think that a lack of power windows equates to a "true performance car") who number high among corvette buyers. There are also the legions of automatic drivers who wouldn't accept a sequential manual as a substitute for a slushbox. And of course you'll never lose those who want to shift for themselves. That means they need three tranny options. And so far I've heard nothing about GM developing or testing one. The only mention I've heard so far was that the Cien would theoretically have had one if it had been built. So if they did it, they'd probably end up buying the Magneti Marelli (sp?) unit. Just doesn't seem likely to me.
