I own a 2011 Grand Sport Corvette. This morning I could not find my keys? My key is attached to my wallet which is also missing. Since the car wont start with out the key (fob) the keys must be here some ware.
Has anyone been able to drive their car without the key (fob)?
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
The concern is not the loss of the FOB but the keys were attached to my wallet which is also missing.
What I wanted to verify was that in order do trive my car home the FOB (along with my wallet) had to be in the car with me.
Man, your summary is difficult to understand. Would have been clearer had you simply used the word fob and not even mentioned the key since as I understand it, the key was not involved. Sounds like you were able to drive your car home and now can't find your fob or wallet. You could not have started the car without a fob, so it has to be somewhere in or near the car

I think the fob has to be in the car in order to start it. Have you looked beside the seats, behind the seats, under the seats, etc. In the door pockets? In the console? Just asking.

Wow, last night must have been something!
Did you fill up on the way home?
The car will start with the fob (and your wallet) on the roof, or when you turn the car off with no fob detected, it will give you ONE chance to turn it back on (which will time out in ~5 -10 minutes). If this is what you did, both your fob and wallet are either crushed to bits or someone found it and either returned to the gas station it or has it now.
Folks have also been able to fuel up and restart the car (before the time out) after leaving the fob at the restaurant or store.
Or, it's hiding somewhere in your dirty laundry with last night's clothing.
The bigger question is why don't you have a spare fob and key?
