High mileage 2007 corvette

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
These cars don't wear out any faster than others. Many daily drivers out there have 200K-250K or more. I bought my '07 with 104K on it and it's pushing 150K now. I bought it to DRIVE. Many Corvette owners buy a low mile car and then are afraid to drive it much so it will still be a low mile car when they sell it. To each his own, but I'd rather enjoy the Vette out on the road rather than sitting in the garage.

Now the 1970 Corvette is a garage queen and averages about 500 miles a year, but it was built to be a trophy car.
YMMV

What are the options, coupe/convertible, etc.
if you want an automatic ? Which Im not sure why.....then the 13 grand is the correct proce imho.
its a one owner like mine and thats what I think is the correct price.
you asked for opinions and by the time my c8 z51 fe4 comes in you ll have long been the proud owner of a corvette so this is not a sales pitch....
my point is After owning this corvette since new...its been a great car...mileage means nothing other than tires, gas and oil changes.
i think while the purchased new c6 was either under warranty or gmpp warranty...(78 months and 78k mile warranty) i had the dealer do the water pump, the alternator, the radiator, and that was about it...
i did the power brake booster, i usually did the brakes every 50k miles, i did the shocks at probably 60k with bilstein sports from tire rack but that was a waste of time. Car road exactly the same so that was a silly service too early...i believe in changing the spark plugs and wires every 50k instead if every 100k..obviously all the fluids get changed as stated in the owners manual intervals ...oh I did the harmonic balancer with a summit racing recommended replacement and not stock...and thats a overblown internet complaint...i did it not because it was a major catastrophe (supposedly if you listen to the internet but its not dangerous or major damaging) ...i just did it because when you started it in the morning forst thing for five minutes and its just first startup of tje day you hear a chirping noise like a bird...and I didnt want to start my car in the morning and hear birds chirping...its basically the harmonic balancer wobbling and it makes the air conditioner belt chirp...
i didnt like hearing chirping so i just had the dealer replace it...i cant remember but it was all of 1200 to 1500 dollars ..it was like 3 years ago maybe 2?
i just did the ac compressor which was about the same price...
the car doesnt use any oil between oil changes which are around $80 every approximate 6k miles...
i do change the cars delco battery almost every three years like clock work. C6 s like a good battery otherwise you get weird messages on the DIC...thats when the first thing you do is buy a new $150 42 month delco that goes bad at around 36 months like clockwork. If you buy it at the dealer and it goes bad before the 42 months they warranty the battery so the battery is covered once..
i have the dealership do all the work over the years. I travel 2 states to have the car serviced as the tech is world class and honest...not inexpensive but dealer rate but worth it...
nice car never in an accident...
id recommend a manual transmission over a automatic sports car just for the fun of it but the automatics are excellent if thats what you want...
like I said...my c8 wont be in until long after you are enjoying a corvette of your own...Im just shooting the breeze
13 grand is the right price for the car your looking at...
gm validates these cars for 300k miles...
and the beauty of corvettes is repairing them if need be is relatively inexpensive becaise they use so many common parts with the rest of gms lineup...
this is my third new corvette over tje past 20 years...a c5z51, a z06 and this 2008 c6 z51 manual...this car has been so wonderful I wouldnt have decided to sell it except Im 60 years old and for the past 40 Ive been reading about “the mid engine corvette” for almost 50 years...give or take a few years...
i want to own a rear mid engine corvette in my lifetime...i had thought I would have already owned one a year ago...so every year I drop my anticipated selling price a grand...and with that thought...
offer the guy with the 2007 c6 you saw $12,500 and buy the car..
these are not imported cars...they are inexpensive to keep...these cars are very durable, reliable...inexpensive to buy and inexpensive to keep....
buy with confidence I say...
ive always sold my cars to the first person who comes to see them. I take very good car of my cars over the past 40 odd years of owning cars and I price them correctly and people who come to see them say Ill take it...
$12500 would be an excellent offer for this gentlemans 13k dollar corvette and worst case scenerio if he says no 13k...if its in clean shape...just give him the 13 grand...
jmo...its priced correctly...its pretty much at the bottom of the deprecation curve and you canput on as many miles as you like...its only going to in my opinion at this point depreciate a thousand dollars a year if that...and you can drive it every day...
dont do that garage thing where you dont drive it...
i always thought that was a stupid thing...
just drive the car as a sports and dont bother with a daily driver as well...GM makes these cars to be driven and not sitting in the garage to be stared at. I think thats bad for the gaskets and seals as they dry up without use...
also since some weirdo on the net saw the photo and commented on the calibers no longer having factory paint on them i think it was 2 years ago...i sanded and then used special brake caliber paint to make the beautiful black...i soent a day watching you tube videos and reading the forums ...and in less than an hour did a beautiful job on them...
otherwise all real service was done at a dealership...I like the tech....and the prices might be a little higher but he is one of GMs top 50 gm tech awards in detroit...
lhe does the carlisle and bowling green service seminars for like 15 years...
a good service tech who is sincere and honest is in my opinion important..
Im quite wealthy or should say reasonably so Ive never spared any exoense or recommendation by my service tech whatever it was over the years...which is what most corvette owners are like. The corvettes are inexpensive to maintain which is one of the reasons I like them...
my wife always asked me to buy a porsche or a jaguar ..she likes to say Jag U Ar...but I drove the v8 jag and the six cylinder porsche...nice cars but service and durability can be expensive to upkeep...
who needs that nonsense when corvettes are better looking, better performing and so inexpensive to buy and upkeep...
the car just runs..
the one thing I wouldnt do is wjat I did with my z06 before this car which was mod the car with jeads and cam...that ruined the durability...
little mods like a air filter or wheels or a mgw shifter are fine... I personally found a heads and cam or a supercharger is too big a jump on other parts on my previous z06 over a period of 65k miles the car was a pain in the butt...
this stock car has been utterly a fantastic ownership experience...im only selling like I said for the rear mid engine corvette arriving next year.
i think a lot of c5 and c6 not to mention c7 s will be on the market as the c8 is such a radical departure and its only between 60 and 70 grand...
im patiently waiting like thousands of other owners to take delivery.
i placed my reservation in may of this uear before the reveal and now I shoot the breeze on the forums while I wait...lol
hope you enjoyed my long hopefully informative posts...
offer 12.5 if its the color and options you want.
thats my advice.

I don't see the c8 affecting C6 or c5 prices in a negative way. It's about impossible to spend more than 30k on a c5. That's half a base c8 before any markups or options. C6 mostly trades at a 10 to 20k below the starting price of a c8. Let's be real, 80k is what c8s will be at when they're actually out. I think the c7 will see some movement, but not much. The z06 and zr1 are faster than a c8, offer sticks, and more cargo space. Auto c7s could see a drop, manual c7s may actually go up.
