I would continue to look around. That is high for a 127K mile '07. You did not mention options, but a base model might bring around $10K. I have an '07 3LT, Z51 with 30,500 and KBB list it at $19K

Stick shift or automatic?. Clutch replaced?. Auto serviced regularly. ?.. Any leaks underneath? We just dont have enough info to make an educated guess. 13K sounds like a good deal if everything checks out. What can you buy today for 13K.......How old are the tires?. Is the engine compartment clean?. That will say a lot on how well the car was taken care of. Being a one owner.....I would look it over real hard. ....and ask every question you can come up with...Good luck.

Anything that was going to break or wear out has already done so and has been replaced. Does he have good service records?

High price for an automatic about right for a manual (depending on shape). Three months ago I paid 12,800 for an 07 LT3 6MT with 149K. I could find plenty of automatics for less but for a manual car with good service history I couldn't find lower pricing. Mine was one owner looked great, HUD, Nav, heated power seats, clear top, mint interior and exterior recent Michelin PS4 tires. Issues were dirty brake fluid, dirty clutch fluid, wonky multifunction switch (kept turning on the high beams), bad hood struts. Switch was ~$60, hood struts were $20, brake fluid $20 plus I changed the oil/filter $50, power steering fluid $10 and coolant.$20. In the spring I'll change the trans fluid and rear axle fluid.

Can't tell you if that's a good deal or not. I can only tell you I would not sell my 07 with 226,000 miles for 13k. Too nice of a vehicle.

Is it a good deal? Sure. But it's also a nightmare to sell, that's why it's cheap.

If you were wanting a low miles car, why start looking at VERY high mile cars?

From where I sit that's a great deal. Around here a C6 for $13K would have a reconstructed title and multiple issues to fix. At that price it would be a good candidate for a track car. Even C5s go for more.

These cars don't wear out any faster than others. Many daily drivers out there have 200K-250K or more. I bought my '07 with 104K on it and it's pushing 150K now. I bought it to DRIVE. Many Corvette owners buy a low mile car and then are afraid to drive it much so it will still be a low mile car when they sell it. To each his own, but I'd rather enjoy the Vette out on the road rather than sitting in the garage.

FWIW - I think many Corvette's are low mileage because they are owned by older drivers who don't drive much. I personally work from home and only drive about 10k miles a year, but I own two cars and a truck and I live where it snows. So the truck usually gets about 5k miles a years because of winter and the Vette and Challenger each end up with about 2500 miles a year. This scenario is pretty common where I live and results in an abundance of high quality, low mileage Corvette's to be available. Three such Corvette's live on my street alone. So it really has nothing to do with being afraid to drive the cars and put miles on them, but more to do with us older drivers that can afford new Corvette's just don't drive them much in our senior years.

Now the 1970 Corvette is a garage queen and averages about 500 miles a year, but it was built to be a trophy car.

YMMV

I bought an 06 convertible A6 3LT with 168k on it for 11K. Did it have a few issues, yes, but so far it has cost me about $400 to replace the water pump, fix an evap solenoid, repair the driver seat and replace the instrument panel dimmer switch. Of course I did all the work myself. Other than that the car runs great. I guess it all depends on how you look at it. Car is not going to be a daily driver as I have collector car insurance on it along with my 88 Vette. I'm totally satisfied with my purchase.

A good entry level price for a vette. If it is something you will hang on to it would be ok, but, as others have said, resale will be hard. If the car is cosmetically immaculate there is a good chance the mechanicals are, also. Test the waters...hit the seller with $11,500.
What are the options, coupe/convertible, etc.

How low do you have to go??? There are lots of nice '08's with under 80K, for under $20,000. High mileage is nothing to be afraid of, but you do need to set reasonable limits. My first C6 had 97K, drove it 'til it had 105K, sold it for what I paid, and upgraded. Get what you want, or close to it, or it is not worth any price.

I have a manual z51 npp 2008 with 19/20 inch michelins and 138k miles...and when my c8 comes in Im selling it for 13 grand because thats the price that the price Ive researched seems to sell for...

if you want an automatic ? Which Im not sure why.....then the 13 grand is the correct proce imho.

its a one owner like mine and thats what I think is the correct price.

you asked for opinions and by the time my c8 z51 fe4 comes in you ll have long been the proud owner of a corvette so this is not a sales pitch....

my point is After owning this corvette since new...its been a great car...mileage means nothing other than tires, gas and oil changes.

i think while the purchased new c6 was either under warranty or gmpp warranty...(78 months and 78k mile warranty) i had the dealer do the water pump, the alternator, the radiator, and that was about it...

i did the power brake booster, i usually did the brakes every 50k miles, i did the shocks at probably 60k with bilstein sports from tire rack but that was a waste of time. Car road exactly the same so that was a silly service too early...i believe in changing the spark plugs and wires every 50k instead if every 100k..obviously all the fluids get changed as stated in the owners manual intervals ...oh I did the harmonic balancer with a summit racing recommended replacement and not stock...and thats a overblown internet complaint...i did it not because it was a major catastrophe (supposedly if you listen to the internet but its not dangerous or major damaging) ...i just did it because when you started it in the morning forst thing for five minutes and its just first startup of tje day you hear a chirping noise like a bird...and I didnt want to start my car in the morning and hear birds chirping...its basically the harmonic balancer wobbling and it makes the air conditioner belt chirp...

i didnt like hearing chirping so i just had the dealer replace it...i cant remember but it was all of 1200 to 1500 dollars ..it was like 3 years ago maybe 2?

i just did the ac compressor which was about the same price...

the car doesnt use any oil between oil changes which are around $80 every approximate 6k miles...

i do change the cars delco battery almost every three years like clock work. C6 s like a good battery otherwise you get weird messages on the DIC...thats when the first thing you do is buy a new $150 42 month delco that goes bad at around 36 months like clockwork. If you buy it at the dealer and it goes bad before the 42 months they warranty the battery so the battery is covered once..

i have the dealership do all the work over the years. I travel 2 states to have the car serviced as the tech is world class and honest...not inexpensive but dealer rate but worth it...

nice car never in an accident...

id recommend a manual transmission over a automatic sports car just for the fun of it but the automatics are excellent if thats what you want...

like I said...my c8 wont be in until long after you are enjoying a corvette of your own...Im just shooting the breeze

13 grand is the right price for the car your looking at...

gm validates these cars for 300k miles...

and the beauty of corvettes is repairing them if need be is relatively inexpensive becaise they use so many common parts with the rest of gms lineup...

this is my third new corvette over tje past 20 years...a c5z51, a z06 and this 2008 c6 z51 manual...this car has been so wonderful I wouldnt have decided to sell it except Im 60 years old and for the past 40 Ive been reading about “the mid engine corvette” for almost 50 years...give or take a few years...

i want to own a rear mid engine corvette in my lifetime...i had thought I would have already owned one a year ago...so every year I drop my anticipated selling price a grand...and with that thought...

offer the guy with the 2007 c6 you saw $12,500 and buy the car..

these are not imported cars...they are inexpensive to keep...these cars are very durable, reliable...inexpensive to buy and inexpensive to keep....

Btw the tires are around a grand for all four installed and thats with michelin AS3 s non runflats...i never run runflats after stick ones wear out...i think the cars ride better and I just put a $20 air compressor in the trunk with a plug kit...A quarter of a million miles on three new corvettes and never a problem with a flat...i just pump air in with compressor ...and have a flat fixed with an inside oatch...i dont think this set of michelins got a flat ...its really rare and no big deal...never been a problem..

buy with confidence I say...

ive always sold my cars to the first person who comes to see them. I take very good car of my cars over the past 40 odd years of owning cars and I price them correctly and people who come to see them say Ill take it...

$12500 would be an excellent offer for this gentlemans 13k dollar corvette and worst case scenerio if he says no 13k...if its in clean shape...just give him the 13 grand...

jmo...its priced correctly...its pretty much at the bottom of the deprecation curve and you canput on as many miles as you like...its only going to in my opinion at this point depreciate a thousand dollars a year if that...and you can drive it every day...

dont do that garage thing where you dont drive it...

i always thought that was a stupid thing...

just drive the car as a sports and dont bother with a daily driver as well...GM makes these cars to be driven and not sitting in the garage to be stared at. I think thats bad for the gaskets and seals as they dry up without use...

also since some weirdo on the net saw the photo and commented on the calibers no longer having factory paint on them i think it was 2 years ago...i sanded and then used special brake caliber paint to make the beautiful black...i soent a day watching you tube videos and reading the forums ...and in less than an hour did a beautiful job on them...

otherwise all real service was done at a dealership...I like the tech....and the prices might be a little higher but he is one of GMs top 50 gm tech awards in detroit...
lhe does the carlisle and bowling green service seminars for like 15 years...

a good service tech who is sincere and honest is in my opinion important..

Im quite wealthy or should say reasonably so Ive never spared any exoense or recommendation by my service tech whatever it was over the years...which is what most corvette owners are like. The corvettes are inexpensive to maintain which is one of the reasons I like them...

my wife always asked me to buy a porsche or a jaguar ..she likes to say Jag U Ar...but I drove the v8 jag and the six cylinder porsche...nice cars but service and durability can be expensive to upkeep...

who needs that nonsense when corvettes are better looking, better performing and so inexpensive to buy and upkeep...

the car just runs..

the one thing I wouldnt do is wjat I did with my z06 before this car which was mod the car with jeads and cam...that ruined the durability...

little mods like a air filter or wheels or a mgw shifter are fine... I personally found a heads and cam or a supercharger is too big a jump on other parts on my previous z06 over a period of 65k miles the car was a pain in the butt...

this stock car has been utterly a fantastic ownership experience...im only selling like I said for the rear mid engine corvette arriving next year.

i think a lot of c5 and c6 not to mention c7 s will be on the market as the c8 is such a radical departure and its only between 60 and 70 grand...

im patiently waiting like thousands of other owners to take delivery.

i placed my reservation in may of this uear before the reveal and now I shoot the breeze on the forums while I wait...lol

hope you enjoyed my long hopefully informative posts...

offer 12.5 if its the color and options you want.

thats my advice.

Too suggest to a potential buyer that low miles don't mean squat is like suggesting to use ones swimming pool as their septic. Sure there are some high mileage cars in fine shape out there. But they are still high mileage cars. Put two 2010 C-6's side by side. One has 100-K....and the other 30-K. Visually both are fine....mechanically both are sound. I'd still pay more (within reason) for the 30-K car any day. Not rocket science....just common car sense.....

i agree, low miles is very nice. While these cars can get to high miles, most people buying a toy want lower miles. If your budget allows low miles, no need to compromise on a high miles car.

I don't see the c8 affecting C6 or c5 prices in a negative way. It's about impossible to spend more than 30k on a c5. That's half a base c8 before any markups or options. C6 mostly trades at a 10 to 20k below the starting price of a c8. Let's be real, 80k is what c8s will be at when they're actually out. I think the c7 will see some movement, but not much. The z06 and zr1 are faster than a c8, offer sticks, and more cargo space. Auto c7s could see a drop, manual c7s may actually go up.

Personally, I would never buy anything used with high mileage. When shopping used, I always shopped lowest mileage first before color or options. That said, if the price was low and condition good and I was only looking to put a few thousand miles on the car each year, it could be a great choice.
