As far as the color coding, so that was the sheet of paper that I could not find lol . But I know I just double checked it with a continuity tester to make sure it was correct before I wrapped it all up . I powered the column up on the bench with a 12 volt charger.
Let us know how it turns out as there were not many of us that did this mod
And for your next trick. I converted my manual passenger side seat to a power seat

OK, here's my version of Dave's circuit. BTW, Dave, thanks a million for that schematic. I was scratching my head for ten minutes trying to figure out how to wire the motor because normally you bring power in through the #30 terminal and distribute it through 87 or 87a, depending on whether you want normally on or normally off. I finally got off my butt and looked at your drawing again. D'oh! (_8(|) Wire the motor to the #30 terminals and you can run the circuit in two directions depending on which solenoid is energized! That's what I get for soldering at 2 a.m., I guess.
OK, my shop installed the new steering column but the wheel is cocked about 20-30 degrees. Can a standard alignment clear this up or will they have to pull the steering column out again? My mechanic seems to think the steering wheel keyway on the telescoping steering column was in a different place, because he made sure the steering wheel was straight and the clock spring was in the same position before he pulled the original column.

Nope keyway is excatly the same ....
What does the tech II show for center position? If it is centered then move the steering wheel
how much is it off..
if its not much just pop off the steering wheel and put it back on straight

He can't pop the steering wheel off, there's a keyway.

The steering wheel does not have a keyway in the strick sense of the word , what looks to be a key way is not really one and you can pull it off and move it one tooth either way if my memory serves me correctly as I put more than a few on have him try it but u need to make sure the shaft and sensor are reading center
Below is a picture of one of the wheels I pulled off of my buddies C6

I haven't talked to my mechanic today, but I don't think so. If an alignment doesn't straighten it out, there are a couple of race car shops around here I can try.
Went and picked up my car yesterday. And nope, the mechanic wasn't able to fix the steering wheel alignment. I bet the wheel is cocked by almost two degrees. Here I thought, from the way he was apologizing up and down, that the wheel was off by like 20 or 30 degrees or something. Hell, I doubt I would have noticed it if they hadn't told me. That's why I like working with these boys - frikkin' perfectionists.
Being able to telescope the wheel out is fantastic. Being a typical old fart corvette owner, I had neck surgery last year. Having to reach forward to drive the car made my left arm go numb/tingle after about an hour of driving. Now it's no problem. Took the car out for a drive yesterday and drove over 200 miles down the backroads and twisties.
Great news !! Now that I am sure is just alignment
How is the tilt wheel working

Dave Thank you so much for posting this information. I was about to delete the airbag and go to an aftermarket wheel but im so excited to do this swap and keep the factory wheel.
I decided to go ahead and give it a shot even though no one seems to know how well it will fit. I found a telescoping steering column + mounting bracket, wiring harness, the works, out of a same year Z06. Now I just need to learn how to install it.
Thank you for being so detailed in the process. Im looking to do the same as i am short AND like to be super close to the steering wheel. Did you do this in a C6 or C7?
