You think low mileage GSs aren't selling for $30k? Y'all are nuts.
Carmax will give you wholesale, bottom dollar. A dealership should give you more, if not, that means they're either a) working you hard, or b) not profitable on the car you want to buy so making their money up in the trade in.
Take it easy man.
Obviously many low mileage GSs are selling for $30k. That doesn't mean that they can't be had for less than $30k though. Especially a 1lt.
I've actually sold 4 cars to Carmax. They have always offered me more than the dealers. May be a regional thing. Not to mention Carmax makes it incredibly quick and easy.
Carvana will give you $30k for that car so there is your bottom dollar.
I've used Carvana a couple of times and I'm amazed at what they will pay for certain cars like low mileage Corvette's. The transaction is simple.
That car would sell pretty fast in the spring for $34k where I live. YMMV
I think 34k is a "priced to sell" number. No negotiation, no haggling .this is the already low price. I think it could go up as high has 36-37k to the right buyer depending on condition.

Well I just put my info in on Carvana.com and they came back with an offer of $27,500 that includes an extra $1,100 in market demand. Not bad at all. (1LT GS) I'd be curious to see if they honor it. I'll probably take it over to Carmax next time I'm home and see how close they are. Carmax seems to be more convenient and there is one not too far from me.

I know several people personally that has used Carvana and I have yet to hear a bad story... they all mentioned how simple it was. A couple if them also tried CarMax and the offer was substantially lower... I think part of it depends on the car and I have noticed Carvana seems to pay out more for low mileage Corvette's.
Funny story but when I bought me C6 I wasn't really looking for one. I was down at CarMax on some other business and this old man drove a super clean low mileage Corvette in and asked CsrMax what they would give him. When the salesman walked away to go calculate a price I told the old guy I'd give home $500 over whatever CarMax offered and handed him a business card. Two hours later I get a call saying the car was mine if I was serious. And that's how I became the proud owner of my C6. When I went to pick up the car the old guy told me he was in a financial bind and needed the car gone before the weekend. Sometimes you just get lucky :-)

Wow yeah. You got a great deal. $500 over what Carmax was offering was probably still a good 5-6k less than retail.

He was quoted a trade-in value of $30, which means a dealer price of $34 (low) to $36(high). His comment about "not selling for that much" was probably a bit of a stretch to make a point. I think of low miles being less than 3K per year. His 2012 has 28K. That mileage would never concern me, but it seems bit high for "low miles".

Manheim auction prices are the most accurate imo... You still have to compare regions and condition of cars carefully. Their prices will give a good indication of actual wholesale prices...
It also gives you a peek at how much mark-up dealers put into cars when you compare their asking against what auctions actually get. Hint 4k or better...

I can tell you for a fact the auctions is where three of the top 15 Corvette dealers get their values from that they use for trade-in. I found that out when I traded in my C5. The offers lined up directly with what C5s with that mileage were crossing the block for. One of the dealers actually told me that's how they came up with the offer. A local gravel lot dealer who was in our Corvette club confirmed the numbers.
