Default Washed and dried

Well this is a first for me. I have done this before with my other car years ago but this time it happened to my 06Z key fob. The short story is I left my key fob in my front pants pocket and it went through a full washer and dryer. When I saw what happened I opened it up to get any water out that might have gotten into it and expecting to have to break down and get a new fob. But, to my surprise when I took it apart and removed the battery the inside all was a little damp! Still thinking it would never work again I left it open for the night and in the morning I reassembled the fob. Then went out to try it. BAM! She unlocked the doors and started right up with out the "NO FOB FOUND". Told some others about it and some admitted they had done the same mistakes with other cars and their fob was junk after that. So I'm I guess I'm what you call a lucky camper.
Anyone else done this before and it still work after going through and complete washer and dryer mistake?

Glad it survived, I've not done that myself YET. One trick that sometimes helps revive wet electronics is to put it in a container with uncooked rice kernels for 24 hours.

Yes, I’ve washed mine before and all turned out fine.

I washed one once and it never worked very well after that.

Looks Like it was my luck was working for me as it's still working after about two mouths without a glitch so far. I did notice that when I took it apart it had what looked like a rubber gasket thing that surrounded just inside the outer shell of the fob.
