Anybody have knowledge of Nitto Tires? My specific question is which is better for the track. Nitto Invo or the NT05. I have used the Invo's and think they are a great tire but wonder if the NT05 may have more dry grip.
so maybe I go with a set of NT01.I'm running all 18 on my C5Z06. But Nitto doesn't make a 295/35/18 only a 305.
275/35/18 on the front and 305/35/18 on the rear. Slightly oversize but more long gear at WGI.
The other tire to consider is probably the toyo r888r. It's the current hot track tire people like a lot. It doesn't seem like the Hankook rs4 is getting the same love the rs3 did, but might be worth looking into as well unless you're sponsored by nitro or something.
I got a good deal on NT05Rs... they work, I daily drive them and will hit the track, but found without heating them up I can break them loose on the street... I would not buy again even at a deal.

If you daily NT05R's.....you're going to do an awful lot of replacing. About the MAX life you'll get 4-5000 miles and they're totally useless.
Not worried about tire life. All I do with the car is drive to the track, run it, drive home. My question about the NT01 is how would they do in the rain. It would be a pity if I couldn't drive to the track. The price on a set is right and they look like a great track tire.

Not great. Not guaranteed death, but they're not exactly designed with it as a key attribute. They're road legal, so that implies some level of ability to drive through a puddle, but I don't think I'd drive a couple hours to a track on them in the rain.
You could always get a tire trailer and tow it behind your car, so you'd have road wheels for driving to and from the track, and track tires to use when you get there. Plus you'd get a little extra space for tools and stuff.
If they're new(ish), NT01s aren't that bad in the rain. Not great, but I wouldn't hesitate to drive them to/from unless it was a monsoon.
Pose the question to the autocross/roadracing forum!

I know you asked about Nittos, but I have been running R888R on my daily and LOVE them. The car hooks more than it ever has. Feels great in autocross, street, highway rolls and 1/4 mile.
There is road noise - they sound like a mud tire at highway speed.

If you can hear tire noise....your exhaust is WAY to tame!
