Bluetooth Issue
I have a bluetooth issue. The car is a 2010 GS w/factory nav and the phone is an Iphone 6. Anyway, I followed the instructions for pairing in the owner's manual, but the thing is, after I press the button on the steering wheel, it does not give a chime or respond with "Ready". I tried saying "Bluetooth" or "Pair" after pushing the button for the required two seconds and all I get from the car is "Command not recognized" or words to that effect. I can't get it to do anything. No bluetooth source is showing on my phone either. I can't seem to find any other threads addressing this so I am wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue and how you might have resolved it.
also front and rear camera.
i am obviously not trying to sell anything lol just saying that the oem unit straight sucked from
the day it was installed.

new head units unlock your phone full potential and they also open up endless upgrade capabilities.
in the end keep what you like and use whatever you want
I have an 08 Z06 with 3LZ trim (equivalent to 4LT). Bluetooth wasn't offered until 2009 starting with 2LT on base models and Grand Sports (in 2010 of course). I have a steering wheel with Bluetooth controls in my 08 Z06. I added it. I have the Bluetooth module available to retrofit, but haven't done it yet. Therefore, Bluetooth functionality won't work properly until I do.
If his GS was a 1LT, the previous owner could've done the exact same thing. He would have the Bluetooth steering wheel, but Bluetooth functionality wouldn't work unless he retrofitted the module.
Since he has a 4LT, something else is wrong.
Also, the OP is trying to fix his current OEM setup. He isn't asking for suggestions on going aftermarket to resolve the issue. It's an incredibly lazy response for those saying, "just change your head unit".
I retrofitted OEM Bluetooth functionality in my previous C6 and didn't encounter any issues. I specifically remember hitting the button on the wheel and it would say "Ready" followed by a beep. Seems like something is wrong with the actual Bluetooth module device. I don't know where they are located in a 2010 GS. In my previous 08 base model, it was behind the carpeting in the right cubby in the hatch area. On my 08 Z06, it's under the passenger seat since that cubby is occupied by the battery. Your GS has the battery back there too. Yours is either under the passenger seat or in the passenger foot well area (by the fuses). Take a look to see if anything looks wrong with the connection. Hope this helps!

All for $10 at Walmart. How can you go wrong? The dang USB charging cable is almost worth $10.

Yeah, I am not getting the "Ready" after pushing the button on the steering wheel. I messed around with it a little yesterday when the wife and I were out and it seemed as though the steering wheel button is not even working now. After pressing it, it did not cut out the stereo sound while waiting for a voice command. I could get the button on the head unit to work, but it still does not recognize any command nor does it give me the "Ready" response. So in addition to the bluetooth module being a potential issue, looks like the steering wheel button may need some attention.
I have a GS convertible, so my battery is under the hood, not in the back. By reading what you posted, my bluetooth module should be in the back where the coupes have the battery?
