Isn't that the OP's point? He wants to personalize it. There are 3 ways to go - leave it alone, since Chevy pretty much got it right with the C6 anyway, customize it to your own personal tastes and don't care what others think, or customize it to try to make it appealing to everyone else (impossible I would argue), even if some of it is not really what you like.

I held off on doing anything to mine because I was entered, months in advance, in a show in the stock/OEM category and I wanted to see how it would do, AND because Chevy did get it right and I liked it just how it was. At the show, it became apparent to me that the white cars, in every class, were just to0 vanilla for the judges - there were plenty of white vettes in every generation at the show and not a single one received an award (and they passed out many awards in every class). So, I recently caught the mod bug. Love the C6's, but for me, the headlights are too early 2000's, especially when there are alternatives out there that look really good in my opinion. The tail lights are iconic, but it's the round holes that make them that way (in my opinion), not what's in the holes. And, on mine, the GS badges on the side were 2 little bits of chrome that just look out of place with no other chrome in sight. For me, the only 2 things that date these cars are the headlights and the head units. I probably won't mess with the head unit any time soon but I personally like the Morimoto lights and am happy with them. But I'm not on here knocking anyone who is happy with the OEM stuff.

It's actually not that bad. I'm not afraid to turn a wrench but I would put myself in the novice category. There are plenty of videos out there on how to do the job - I watched them multiple times, made sure I had the right tools and waited until I had plenty of time to take my time. It looks scary, sounds scary, but everything worked for me just like the how-to videos. For what it's worth, I did not use the method of removing the entire front fascia. Just remove enough body screws to loosen everything up and make sure to tape off the areas that could possibly get scratched.

This is too true.
If you go in for new valve guides on the heads, you may or may not leave with a full HCI build!

Perhaps the wheels are plasti-coated and can peeled off.

I really don’t see how posting my opinion in someone else’s thread soliciting opinions should make you feel put down but okay. Good?

Now that is a beautiful blacked out car made to his own liking. OP's car is nice. I love the rims, don't change them out.

Already have a Viet-Nam Veteran plate. But, your question is a good one.

I added these leather (and padded leather) parts back in 2013 on my '06, and I'll add that I also put on matching padded leather arm rests on the doors. I used to find my left and right elbow got uncomfortable on the hard plastic, and now it's completely comfortable. So I'm +1 on this recommendation, I appreciate it every time I'm in the car.

The problem with asking for tips on personalizing your car on here is eventually you end up with car that looks exactly like every other car here. Morimoto lights, oracle corners, splitters and skirts... Then you end up with a car that isn't unique, it looks like all the other "personalized" cars from the forum.

Don't get me wrong, the murdered out look isn't unique either. My advice is to take in all the pictures you can, and Pic out what you like and what you'd want to do to your car. That's what personalizing the car is about, not asking other people what they would do.
