2007 coupe 15K which has the battery disconnected for seat removal and sound insulation. Everything worked fine prior to removing the door panels and battery. Battery with full charge reinstalled, passenger window operates and indexes. Nothing on the drivers, so removed the door paneling checked the harness plug which looked Ok.Then disconnected the harness plug and checked the male and female connector pins in the plug, look good. Reconnected the two sides of the harness plug and still no drivers window. From looking at the fuse block diagram there is only one fuse for both windows which looks fine. The window switch appears to be fine. Any ideas?
Get a voltmeter and check the switch pins for voltage. Operate the switch and see if there is voltage on the output. It's a little tricky to get to the pins through the back of the harness but it can be done. This will help you determine if the switch is sending voltage to the motor. If it is, check the connection at the window motor for voltage. Just take it step by step and follow the voltage until you find the problem. I'd make sure all of the connections are fully seated as part of my test procedure as well.
Usually the culprit's a window reg, switch or module.
Not the problem here as it worked fine before, now post-work doesn't.
Wonder if the work done hadn't disrupted something in the wiring causing this.
Has to be a connection.
Thanks to all, found a pin in the harness plug that had been pushed back just enough not to make contact. This is what is so great about the Forum, if you have an issue usually there is someone that can help you track down the problem. Thanks again!
I'll add this to this solved thread as I had something similar and found out that if the window is down when the battery is disconnected that it won't work on reconnect. There's a down indexing that needs to be done. Same as for up: hold the down switch for the window for 5+ seconds and it will start working again if that was the issue
