According to my Chevy dealer, my 2005 manual Corvette with 53k miles will not start. I took the vehicle to them after a local repair shop said the battery needed replacement but still would not start. Their diagnostics revealed multiple electronic code errors. They recommended the local Chevy dealer since they have more advanced diagnostics they could run. The Chevy service department said that all they could do is start replacing computer and electrical parts but that it would be extremely costly. I have suffered the electrical problems that this blog and others that 2005 manual Corvette owners have experienced like:
1. No Fob Detected (batteries frequently replaced)
2. Dead Battery Syndrome (DBS)
3. Erroneous Warnings: flat tire (right rear), and airbag fault
4. Service column lock (scl) code on the DIC occurs with high frequency for about 3 years had to disconnect negative cable and wait few minutes.
In 2010, despite replacing the battery two month earlier, the car would not start, a different Chevy service department replaced the under hood electrical fuse block since the circuit test revealed no output to the starter.
Appreciate any input. I am considering selling it for parts or to someone who wouldn’t mind chasing a rabbit down a hole. The car is in very good shape and the LS2 engine runs like a charm.

Thank you. [/QUOTE
Just curious how long have you had the car and are you the first owner? And has the car been modified? Rather than part it out, I would contact a local Vette club and see who works on their cars. I would also write down all of the codes they are finding (or have found) and provide this information to a good shop who specializes in Corvettes. You can also contact some of the shops we have all talked about on this site. People ship cars all over the country to good shops for work.
Certainly a "qualified" Chevy dealer could diagnose your problem(s). Any dealer that tells you that they will have to start replacing parts until they find the problem is not "qualified". Find another dealership or a good indy shop
With the Column lock issue, if you deisconnect the battery, and reconnect after 10 minutes, that will delay the column lock and allow the car to start if that is the issue.
One more thing you should check is the fuse box blue connectors under the passenger footwell floorborad. Those sometimes get dislodged slightly if some passenger pushes hard against the floorboard, which touches those connectors and causes all kinds of weird and wonderful alarms, codes etc.
Simply disconnect the connectors, check for any bent pins etc. Put dielectric greae on the pins and reconnect them snugly. If the alrams and codes go away, that was the issue. If so, then add someting to act as bumpers to prevent it from happening again.
See the attached PDF file
The other issue that has surfaced is if a spark plug wire has become loose, that will cause all kinds of issues.
Good luck, and hopefully something simple as mentioned is to blame and you can enjoy your C6 instead of parting it out.
Thank you, I am the original owner. No major modifications were done. I will obtain the error codes and report back to all those who responded.
Have you tried any of the things I suggested? If it is the Blue connectors giving you the issues, then you will have many codes that don't make any sense.
Try to reposition those connectors before you go any further. Disconnect the battery first.
