Default Pets in Convertible

I have a C6 convertible and have a 10 lb. Malshi dog. I have a dog seat belt that connects to her harness, but I would like to know if anyone can advise of a safe way to take her with the top down. I've shopped for the booster-style seats, but get concerned if she would be safe. Advise and suggestions?

One of my pet peeves, no pun intended. I think it is dangerous, thoughtless, and foolish to drive with a pet on your lap. And I could care less that your toy poodle weighs 7 pounds.

Plenty of suggestions, but none would be helpful.

A Velcro harness would likely work.

What are you worried about? If she's connected to the seat belt, where's she gonna go?

My Toy Poodle just sits on my lap, when driving with her, a harness she seems to always slip out.

I can say she never jumped out, but once had to slam on the brakes, that woke her up!

I just want to make sure she is secure. Makes me a bit nervous thinking about no other containment. I'm probably just being over protective!

My dog stats home and outside 90% of the time. Would never take her in vette. Take her in wife's suburban or daughters cobalt to the veterinarian

Took my German Shepard for a ride a few times when she was a pup, she just laid there calm as could be. I never had her tied to anything. I'm afraid she's gotten to big now for anymore rides in it.

Harness + buckle into the seatbelt. Then she is no different from a human passenger. We have a Newfoundland (110+ lbs) and she likes riding with the targa top off. Harness + seatbelt buckle. Works like a champ.

I'd suggest a seat cover to protect the seat from their claws, dog hair etc. Something that can be easily installed and removed such as these. https://seatshield.com/products/elitesport-seatshield

When i took my Sheltie on road trips I built her a cushion on the seat. She would lay on the seat the entire time.

I would never take either of our 2 golden retrievers, because it would take 6 months to remove all that hair!! Bronk

Just take the top off and let the hair blow out. That's what I do with this guy. He sheds some but he loves going for rides so I can't deny him that joy.

Great idea, but I am concerned about the "station wagon effect" and all that hair would end back in the car!!
