Default Replacing Trunk release button under trunk

I'm replacing the switch and just to know is there any particular step to release from housing or does it just pull straight down? Thanks

There are two tabs, one on either side of the body of the switch that you just need to squeeze and push straight down, while you're reaching in through the taillight hole.

There are tabs you will need to press on the housing from inside the bumper area. Simultaneously press the tabs and push down and it will come out.
